Whataburger — Restaurant in Coppell

This place is hit or miss. never go during a meal time, lunch or dinner. I went this evening about 5pm. there were 4 people in the drive through in front of me. i waited in the line about 45 minutes. when i got up to the window. i waited another 10 minutes before anyone greeted me. There was a car off to the side and one in front by the flag pole. someone came out to both these cars more than once. when the girl finally took my money, i waited a while longer, then she asked me to pull up and wait by the flag pole. I asked her if they were really busy. She said yes! i asked if there were lots of customers insde, she said, no, there were not any, they were all in the drive through. i said, i've been waiting along time, is my food going to be cold? she said, no it's made to order. i said, you have not started making my food yet? he said no. some really bad management at this whataburhger. There is no reason to have to wait this long and not have food ready for only 4 other people in front of me. so i pull over and wait for my food. the onion rings are really hot. The hamburger was cold. it also had weird lettuce and a too thick slice of tomato on it. after all that waiting a cold burger. not even slightly warm. Straight up cold. like they made it in the morning and placed it near the fridge. sometimes the service and burgers are ok, but far too many times, i think they are all scattered and unorganized. that burger was not...

I'm being generous with my three stars simply because most of the time this location does a good job. The food is good and fresh. The people are usually pretty nice. Usually it's pretty slow, but hey, it's Whataburger.

On this particular visit, I went through the drive thru and the wait was stupid long. Took about 20 minutes, one window open. While the young lady at the window was very pleasant, she first got my drinks wrong. But she fixed it for me. No big deal. Got the food, drove into a parking spot to check the bag, got completely the wrong order. Had to drive around to the drive thru again (I was not dressed to go inside sadly) and told them I got the wrong order. In the "B" lane, after a couple of minutes a different young lady approached and asked what happened. I explained that I got the wrong order and had to tell her my order all over again. Then I waited for 10 minutes and a quick "sorry for that." I was pissed. 30 minutes to get a hamburger.

Sadly it's not uncommon for the order to be slightly wrong here, which is why I always check it before I leave. But this last time really ticked me off. For that, they don't get four stars ... but three. And likely won't see us...

The hamburger I had was really good, I ordered the sweet and spicy bacon burger, however the french fries were hard and stale like they had been sitting under the heat lamp a while. In fact they were difficult to eat. This is kind of hard to understand because they were extremely busy at the time, and so it would seem that the fries would be fresh, but apparently they cook up a bunch in advance and let them go bad under the heat lamps. Also the coke was watery, a phenomenon I have not experienced at Whataburger before. Typically there are two places you can count on to get the Coca-Cola mix just right, Whataburger and McDonalds. Hopefully this is not a trend leaving us with just McDonald's to be able to get a perfectly Blended soda. Other than that I was satisfied with the attitudes of the employees who were friendly despite being extremely busy. That is always a good sign. I will probably be back to this location again, but I will make sure that they cook me some fresh fries, and we'll find out what's up...
