It was nice, we were a little late for our reservations but didn't even have to wait 3 minutes and were seated. The cocktail selection is not the typical, and didn't enjoy the one I tried (I believe it was Oceanic Flightplan? Something like that. Tasted very strong of rosemary/pine and cinnamon. I expected just a hint) however was able to send it back with no issues and got an amaretto sour which was excellent and not over iced nor watered down. The complimentary bread we were served was VERY hard and room temperature. Parts were nearly burned and had to snap them off in order to eat some of it. The spreads were pretty good. One was a kind of buttery cream cheese, the other had a smoky, salmony flavor. I wish the bread was either softer, or cut into more of a cracker type slice and it would have been much more enjoyable. Either way, as I said, it was free, so no worries there. The crabcakes were phenomenal, I highly recommend. The mashed potatoes are delicious and fluffy, also recommended. The Fleming's Au Gratin potatoes, please note are not traditional au gratin potatoes, much to my disappointment. They didn't taste bad, don't get me wrong, however it was more of a potato loaf with cheddar on top and a little of au gratin sauce on the plate. I expected thin potato slices well saturated and tender in au gratin sauce. The steaks, sadly as overpriced as they are, were overcooked, and the plates were dirty (I don't mean unwashed, but usually meals are served on plates that are sparkling clean and any splatter is wiped off, at least). My husband and I ordered 2 different cuts, both requested something between medium and medium well, basically some pink, but not bloody. His was a bit past medium well, no pink, yet not dry, and he enjoyed it anyway with the bearnaise sauce and mashed potatoes. Mine was the 8oz filet mignon. It was not only VERY well done (over cooked), but burnt and charred on a large portion. I cut into the thickest part which was over an inch thick, and there was no pink anywhere. It was cooked and dry all the way through. The bearnaise sauce was good, so in an effort to not be "that person" who sends everything back, and in trying to have a nice date night (we get very few), I attempted to eat it anyway. Someone came by and asked about the meal and my husband said good. Meant to leave it at that, but they asked me directly so I smiled and said "a little overcooked" and he insisted on bringing me a new one. He agreed it was nowhere near what I requested, and a little over well, even. I appreciated that and the replacement came out quickly. We didn't have room for dessert, as the sides were huge (one is plenty for sharing). Overall it was a nice experience, if a bit overpricedfor what it is. The valet parking was only $8 so that was a nice surprise, but honestly, I don't think this will be a place to frequent, and next special occasion likely won't be here. It wasn't better than what we get at Longhorn for under half the price, and for roughly the same price, The Capital Grille is MUCH more worth it, in ambience and quality of...
Read moreI'm a little upset about how I spent my 15th Wedding Anniversary. I gave it 3 stars because it wasn't totally bad; just wished it was a lot better. We had a reservation and got seated within 5 minutes, which is good. The restaurant is a little crammed. We were seated in between a row of 1 more table on our left and 2 more on our right. There were also tables directly behind the two of us. The waiters kept bumping my chair as they walked to the kitchen or their tables to wait on their clients. Not one sorry, or excuse me. Now, the lobster bisque was delicious; one of the best I've had. The bottle of wine the waiter recommended was also, very good. Now, I ordered the C.A.B. Ribeye with a "truffle poached" lobster tail. First off, it looked nothing like the picture. I mean I figured it wouldn't be as big, as it was only $20, but it was 2oz, at best. It also had the shell attached (not what the picture showed) and part of it was missing. I didn't want to complain, so I just dealt with it. Now I don't think the meaning of "poached" has changed, but I took it to mean, just that. Mine must have been broiled, because the entire thing was ridiculously dry. The end was crispy. There was NO truffle taste whatsoever...there was no flavor whatsoever! I decided to bring it to the waiter's attention. He advised that the truffle was in the sauce. As for the dryness, since he didn't seem to offer a replacement, I asked for melted butter AND lemon. After 5 minutes, I was served congealed butter in a heated contraption. The tea light candle was in a plastic container (weird) and the darn butter took over 5 minutes to melt. He never brought the lemon, I had to ask again. The lobster was cold! Now as far as the truffle being in the sauce...this was not true and it wasn't described that way on the menu, either. The sauce was supposedly a bernaise sauce...no truffle flavor. The steak was very good and the mushrooms we ordered, complimented it well. The baked potato on the other hand was a disaster. The potato wasn't hot enough to properly melt the butter...much less the cheese. We were given 2 glasses of champagne upon our arrival, which was nice. The chocolate at the end was a nice touch. But, after spending close to $400, I expected to leave with a better taste in my mouth "pun...
Read moreFlemings is an incredible restaurant, with great food and a far better experience than I could have ever hoped for. I recently went for an anniversary celebration and was immediately greeted and brought to a table. Our waitress, Stefany was friendly but where she really shined is how well she knew the menu. She took the time to explain everything, the type of cuts, the sides and even went through the types of butters. We ultimately decided to try the Tomahawk Tuesday Special. The Tomahawk includes 2 starters, 2 sides and 2 desserts. Lets discuss the starters we opted for the Flemings Salad and the Cesar Salad both absolutely delicious. If a restaurant can make a salad stand out, I already know we are off to a good start. When you come to a steakhouse you expect the meats to be a star and cooked to perfection, luckily the Tomahawk was exactly that. The 35oz Tomahawk was served with all the different types of butter Stefany had explained prior and they were all melt in your mouth. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite. For sides we ordered the potatoes and we enhanced the experience as Stefany had suggested with the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Although both were phenomenal truly Stefany steered us in the right direction by ordering that Lobster Mac because wow that left me speechless. I would assume if a single item in a meal can leave you quite literally speechless, you know you got your moneys worth. But in this case, every dish was quite delicious and Flemings truly did not disappoint. For dessert, we ordered the Creme Brûlée and Lava Cake. It was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. Stefany offered to take a picture of us and brought the picture to the table. It was such a nice touch and made the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you to the Flemings team and chef for an incredible meal. Most importantly, thank you to Stefany our waitress for your exceptional customer service and making our anniversary night...
