My boyfriend took me to 450 Gradi for my birthday! This restaurant was wonderful and I can’t recommend it enough! The food, service, and atmosphere were superb! Constanza was our waitress and she was so lovely throughout the whole evening! I started our meal with the drink Seduction that Constanza recommended. It was delicious, a great sweet and cinnamony tequila drink and it came in an adorable cup! We ate the charcuterie for two for an appetizer and it was delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever had a charcuterie at a restaurant that was better. It had delicious olives with great honey, meat, and bread and wonderful parmesan and Barrada! The bread that they offered us when we sat down was exceptional, and it came with the most delicious Tamponade. We also decided to share a pizza with prosciutto Barrada and basil. We loved the sauce and crust. The basil tasted so fresh, and it was a perfect balance!
For our entrées, my boyfriend ordered the chef’s candy and it was superb. The Chef’s Candy was sweet and salty. The cheese was deeply savory, and it’s very slightly funky in the best way possible, it was amazing all around. I ordered the truffle carbonara and it was so good. The meat was perfect and The truffle on the pasta gave the dish a great depth of flavor. It really elevated the dish. This was a very elegant place to eat! The was a lot of great showmanship with fire and beautiful presentations all around from the service that added to the overall ambiance. The staff was incredibly attentive they explained every dish very clearly and and were very positive people to be around. They were extremely kind and generous! When we arrived there were little rose petals on our table for my birthday and when we got dessert they had a beautiful birthday presentation with a large sparkler, flashlights and a big birthday sign!
The fire stone dessert had a strawberry sorbet in the center that was almost like a jam and was so good in combination with the dessert’s, chocolate, mousse, meringue, and crunchy pistachio base! We finished dinner with Lemoncello digestive.
We are so delighted that we got to have such an exceptional experience tonight at this restaurant!! We cannot recommend it enough! Thank you very much to all of the staff and Constanza who made tonight so...
Read moreI will NEVER come back to this restaurant again.
I have never been treated in such a racially motivated manner in my life. For starters, the servers NEVER acknowledged me, only my partner. For context, I am brown skinned and my partner is white. When we ordered, the bald headed server was aggressively taking our order as if he was mad at us, and continued to glare at us throughout the night. He got more unfriendly when I wanted to place my order as if I was out of line for speaking and not allowing my partner to speak for me. Not sure if it is homophobia or whatever but he was incredibly micro-aggressive.
The female server was by FAR the WORST. She fully did not even acknowledge my presence. She didnt even look at me. When my partner and I finished our drinks, she asked my partner if he wanted another drink and fully looked at my empty glass and walked away without asking me if I wanted another drink as well. For the SHARED water on our table, she filled my partner’s glass with water and left mine empty. She was also checking in on the other tables several times and never checked on us until we asked. When we received the bill, she handed him the check and asked how he wanted to pay. When my partner said that we would split it, she acted shocked that he said we would split it, as if I couldn’t afford the meal. She then proceeded to talk down to me while paying as if I were a child. She called me “sweetie” in a condensing way and spoke to me slowly like I was incapable of understanding basic English. Mind you, she spoke to my partner with respect, called him “sir”, and just spoke to him normally. She treated me as if I was invisible the entire time. I was so upset and quite frankly so offended. It felt like she was intentionally treating me like this.
Also, the table next to use ordered their meal after we ordered ours, and we ordered the SAME dishes, but their order came out before ours… despite us ordering first…
To be treated like this at a “high end” restaurant is unacceptable. If you are a person of color or LGBTQ+, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Needless to say, I will not be back and will make sure to tell all my Coral Gables locals to avoid...
Read moreI rarely take time to submit reviews. I was compelled to do so.
Food was great. Service was horrific.
See lowlights below and tell me how you would rank it:
Ordered glass of red wine. When tasting it, I didn’t drink enough to notice how warm it was. Wine was warm to the point it was undrinkable. So through my appetizer, I didn’t have wine to drink while waiting to get someone to help.
Finally found a person but he offered no options. In fact, he literally said they couldn’t change it and told me they didn’t have a wine cooler.
A third person I spoke to about it that approach our table by chance committed to providing me a replacement glass of wine. That glass came but after the appetizer had already been eaten without the option to accompany it by my glass of wine.
Can a restaurant sell $300 bottles of wine and yet not have a cool place to store them?
The bad “Service” did not stop there. Waited throughout the entire time I was eating main course for extra bread, I had asked waiter for extra bread when discussing wine when appetizer was served. After finishing my main course, waiter realized he hadn’t brought bread and actually asked if I wanted him to bring it then. Really? After finishing dinner?
I had actually requested bread to finish half of my overpriced ($29) appetizer (Burrata). Half of the appetizer was left without being eaten waiting for the bread.
Waiter never came back after food was served to ask if we needed anything or if everything was OK.. had he, he would have realized that I hadn’t been given additional bread.
At the end of the night, there was no attempt to make up for the terrible experience. Perhaps it is best that way, Perhaps had they offered to comp appetizer, or the wine, or perhaps offered free dessert, I might have considered coming back. As it stands, I never will.
Hope you have a...
