I wrote an 5-star review about a month ago but unfortunately I'm editing it to downgrade my review to 1 star. These are the main reasons: 1- The lady on the front that takes phone call orders is so rude, not a greeting nor a smile. I was there today to pick up an order, there is another customer picking up her food and she kindly ask the front lady is she had ketchup on the side, the front lady just said: Esta ahi (it's there) With no manners nor respect. (The customer was from an hispanic country other thank Cuba) I also have a co-worker (who is not Cuban) who used to order every single day for lunch. The last 2 months he started to complain so much about the rudeness in this place that he decided not to order anymore. I'm Cuban and CAN'T stand with this lack of manners, since these kind of situations make all people think that ALL Cubans are rude and don't have education. 2- The second reason my review is going down is because I always order Lomito con arroz y yuca since it used to be tender and well flavored. It also used to be generous portions. But this time the lomito was veryyyy dry and over cooked, not flavored at all, and half the size it used to be. The only generous portions was the white rice that covered more than half of the container. I don't plan to return. I guess all good Cuban food restaurants are downgrading food and service to the lowest, like La Carreta have been doing during...
Read moreThis once great place..usually a step above Versailles..has severely dropped in quality. My FRITURAS DE BACALAO..(COD FRITTERS) were undercooked and cold inside..obviously not fried long enough...once I told waiter he brought them back BURNED TO A CRISP..six little balls as tough as nails..like rocks..at that point did not bother to return again..I give restaurants one maybe two shots to make it right..if you are so negligent as to bring back burnt fritters with a straight face then you either don't care or are clueless..the rest of food on this mid Sunday in December was bland and just did not have the classic taste we expect from LA Casita..also..waiters and staff need to up their game..you can immediately tell between a Professional waiter or waitress and a part time back up who doesn't understand proper etiquette, demeanor and approach when dealing with guests at a sit down restaurant. Unfortunately a lot of it comes from the deteriorated culture and society in communist Cuba, which results in subpar service and food. Not their fault but a product of their background. The old exiles need to engrain in the old pre communist Cuba trafitions, etiquette and work ethic. You must have pride in your work..whether a dishwasher, the owner, a cook,...
Read moreThis is very pretty and ✨️ sparkly inside and the service was amazing. I'm very American and boring in my food choices and seasonings I use but, I'm trying to be more open with trying food prepared and seasoned differently than I am used to. I chose liver and onions with mashed potatoes and fried sweet potatoes. I wasn't really fond of the flavors in the cooking of the liver but my daughter said she liked it. It was perfectly cooked and so tender but it just had an odd taste that I couldn't get into. The mashed potatoes once again had an odd taste so I didn't eat them. I wasn't thinking and ordered the fried sweet potato, but it was the white sweet potato which is not as flavorful as the orange one but other people with me absolutely enjoyed them. My elderly friend with us who has moderate dementia and we have to beg her to eat got the child portion of chicken strips and fries which she ate like a champ. We did put her food on a smaller plate and she ate great. We took a lot home with us. I probably won't return because it just wasn't something that I enjoyed but the othe⁴rs that I was with are definitely planning on returning. One more thing, they brought a small basket of Cuban garlic bread and it...
