Sweet Melody Ice Cream — Restaurant in Coral Gables

After a nice dinner with a friend on Sunday, we were looking for a place to have some ice cream, and we sort of stumbled into Sweet Melody Crafted Ice Cream... We were so pleasantly and unexpectedly surprised! This is a small ice cream shop on 8th Street SW, on the side of Coral Gables. Their selection of flavors is small but curated and delicious. We had the Abuela Flan flavor which tasted exactly like a Cuban abuelita dessert! The Nutella-inspired flavor was on point, too. They have multiple seasonal and monthly flavors. The service was friendly and courteous. The shop is decorated with album covers and names of pop songs, reinforcing the "melody" theme. I came here because it was nearby and offered a ton of gluten free options. At the time I had no idea I was being attended to by the owner and let me tell you that I was beyond amazed by how deliciously authentic this ice cream was and how friendly the owner was. He encouraged us to follow the instagram and thats where I began to learn more about this family-owned company along with how beautiful their story is. I will be visiting their Citadel location since it is closer to home, but this location deserves some love if you happen to be in the area. Stepping into Sweet Melody immediately took me back to the happiest childhood memories I've had with icecream. From the fun decor to the chillest vibes (pun intended) Sweet Melody is a wonderfully delicious place.

I met with my friend who brought her daughter and the staff was so patient and kind and allowed endless taste tests to ensure we ended with the perfect scoop of our choice.

The flavors are absolutely incredible - hitting the nail on each flavor profile while being the perfect balance of sweet.
