4 Rivers Smokehouse — Restaurant in Coral Springs

I just visited the Coral Springs location where on this particular day the food was HORRIBLE (aside from the Bayou bar that was delicious). I had to write in because i just first ate here two days before. On that day, two of my fellow co-workers and I went here for the first time. The ribs were DELICIOUS (tender, juicy, EVERYTHING about them were delicious). I have bragged about this spot and to soooooo many people since leaving and before writing this review. Upon leaving, I had 3 left over pieces of my rib that I had even taken home to my husband. He took them to work the following morning and they were still good (I know because I got a random text from him saying how delicious they were and how they were better than any of the BBQ spots we had tried). On the day of the visit I think his name was Jerry (a front house manager or similar) came and greeted us. We told him how he was an asset to the company because of his personality. I have bragged every since to my co-workers & friends but TODAY was disappointing. After getting off from work, I go by the location (almost the EXACT time as two days before when we all got off and decided to drop in) and boy was I disappointed. I order my food to go and got home. The ribs didn't even look the same, they were dry, hard, and EVERYTHING opposite of what I was looking forward to. For the cost, it was not worth it... now let's be clear, I will pay for good food and excellent service but after today... I'm disappointed and will be sure to let others know my second experience was HORRIBLE. If I had never had the second experience, I would have given 5 stars but because the first experience surpasses how I felt about second time, I gave 3 stars!

UPDATE: I have emailed 4Rivers twice and left all my information as told to do so! No response!

UPDATE II: I received a call from the GM, Will. Great personality, very personable and even though it has been months since my review, he wanted to apologize for the mishap! He asked me if I had been back. I told him not yet, have wanted to but haven’t yet. He told me that he was sending out a gift card and be sure to stop by and say hi when I stop by the restaurant! Is that not good service or what?! I’ll answer- it’s GREAT service! The apology was sincere (I could see Will’s smile through the phone). I never expected anything because I had actually rated 3 stars, not a 1 or 2. As I stated before the gentleman that was in the restaurant at the time was really nice on my first visit, the ladies have always been nice too and the GM being nice is a PLUS! I will go to a restaurant with bad food and give them a second chance when the service surpasses over going to a restaurant that sells good food but bad service! 4Rivers has never had bad service so... you know I’m going back... Great job at this restaurant! Keep up the great...

Went there for fathers day ..Food was good thumbs up for that especially the Brisket, Pork, and Sausage Beans .....service was decent ...there was one guy who was the "serving size cop" ....that seemed a bit odd would seem a little more authentic if they just put it on the plate without going through the use of a scale ..went there for fathers day ....ordered food sat down...now for the not so good.

A group of 6-8 young black kids came in walked to the self service soda/refill station and grabbed the clear cups and proceeded to help themselves to numerous free sodas one guy pouring multiple out trying another spitting one partially out, all while giving other customers intimidating looks like "if you say something there will be trouble" other customers noticed this ..one customer we over heard said "this place needs security" ...after seeing this I can agree. I told the manager he did nothing even though I pointed out they are all sitting outside ...they were all sitting at the outside seating drinking their free $4.00 sodas..and discouraging new customers lol.

I think they need to remove those "cups" and anything that can be used as cups from the soda bar ...although a few of them will just use their mouths I am sure ...but they way they all barged in ...this is obviously NOT their first Rodeo utilizing the 4 Rivers "FREE" Soda bar. If I am paying nearly $30.00 a person for lunch/dinner I expect and demand a safe non intimidating environment for myself and my family...as the other customer noted ...they really need to get some security to prevent this from escalating ...and sooner or later there will be customers that will say something and things will turn bad ...I would be VERY surprised if management was no aware of this problem....

Coral Springs is not what it used to be ...there are roaming groups like this that now steal at will from many retailers ..this is not the first time I have seen similar ...and its always the...

I made an online order in for curbside pickup. It was supposed to take 20 minutes, but when I arrived about 15 minutes early, I called in and let them know I was there. They said my food would be right out and in less than five minutes my food was brought out by a server named Jenna. I asked about utensils and napkins and Jenna said she was sorry but she did not think there was any in the bag and that she would go get some. When she came back I informed her that there was also a side order of pulled pork missing. Again, she apologized and said she would take care of it. A couple of minutes later she came back with the side and said she put as much in as she could fit and was sorry for the mistake. Throughout the entire transaction, Jenna was friendly, smiling and professional. It was so great to feel like someone cared that you had a good experience. Of course, she was probably not aware that it was my very first visit to 4 Rivers smokehouse.

in any case, I have a long drive ahead of me so I took my time and made the food last about an hour and a half. I am not a barbecue expert, but I do know what I like and I am particular about it. Everything in my order was not only excellent, but unique.

The pulled pork was smoky, but not too much, tender but not mushy it really did not need sauce, but I tried some of their mustard-based sauce and it was excellent that way as well. The baby back ribs, which they had cut up for me by request, or a literally "fall off the bone" tender, which proved to be a challenge since I was driving! Like I said, I took my time. There was a fair amount of fat for baby back ribs, but it was caramelized so well that it was also delicious and I don't usually care for fatty meats. Side dishes of collard greens and baked beans we're also obviously made and house and they were both excellent.

So, whenever I can, I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend you try them as well. thank you Jenna and...
