Mr. Beefy’s Subs and More in Coral Springs is a culinary gem that serves up a slice of New York and Chicago right in the heart of Florida. Since taking the reins in September 2022, Tricia Lovett has been masterfully blending respect for the shop's origins with her own innovative twists. The in-house smoked pork has transformed their Cuban and pulled pork sandwiches into something truly special – and at $10.99 each, they're a steal.
The hot dog offerings are a nod to the great Sabrett vs. Vienna Beef rivalry. A true-to-form Chicago-style hot dog, complete with all the traditional fixings and that essential poppy seed bun, will run you just $5.99. For the hungrier souls, the Mike Ditka Sausage – a robust ⅓ lb Polish sausage from Vienna Beef – is a must-try at $11.99, especially when smothered in the house chili, cheese, and raw onions.
I was particularly taken by the rare roast beef sandwich, a generous 12-inch creation for $13.99. The beef is roasted daily for the freshest flavor and paired perfectly with a whole wheat hoagie, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, creamy mayo, and classic American cheese. It's a taste of Jersey’s deli culture that's become all too rare.
But the real star is the Mr. Beefy sandwich. Imagine a hefty 8 oz of Italian-seasoned eye of round roast beef, cooked rare and dipped in savory au jus, sans any processed meat. Paired with spicy Vienna Beef giardiniera, melted provolone, all inside a toasted, crusty roll with extra au jus on the side for dipping – it’s a hearty, heartwarming bite. And do yourself a favor: get the onion rings. They’re air-fried to crispy perfection without being greasy.
For deli enthusiasts, there’s also the Carnegie brand pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, each at $14.99, bringing the authentic deli experience straight...
Read moreI read about this place, checked the menu, read all reviews & looked forward to trying it.. Today, Monday, at 130PM I went there for lunch. No customers present, 1 employee, nice young lady. I asked for the Chicago beef sandwich & she said they were still cooking the beef & would I like something else? So I asked for a Philly cheese steak. She repeated that their beef was still cooking & would I like something else?
So I learned & I left. I learned that Mr. Beefy does not have their signature product at mid-day & since there were no other customers present, they probably did not "run out." Not very impressive. I also learned that their Philly cheese steak apparently does not use steak at all, but uses the same unavailable beef. Interesting & also not impressive. I learned that the owner is not on site in the middle of a business day (unless the young lady was the owner). I also learned that I will never ever return or spend 1 cent at this poorly managed business. I also predict that within 6 months, Mr. Beefy will be long gone from the Coral Springs restaurant lineup, as well...
Read moreI have never had a good experience at this location. The subs are always sooooo soggy. I specifically ask for no oil and vinegar to avoid this issue, and I check it before I leave every time. It is just SOGGY, immediately. I've never seen anything like it. The ingredients are always just kind of thrown at the bread, and the ridiculous amount of mayo is what I assume is creating that amount of sogginess. It is so gross to eat completely soggy bread. I go a lot because it is across the street from where I work, and I just can't believe this is such an issue. The last time I ordered a sub, I ended up throwing the half of the sub that had mayo on it out and eating a mayo'less open face sandwich just because I was so hungry. To top it off, a 8" sub, drink, and chips comes out to $16. How could you possibly justify that when you are serving food people actually have to throw out by the time they go to eat it, every....
