Real Authentic Thai Food. Flavors are rich and food is legit spicy (tho I feel like they toned it down a little for the local demographic, if you grew up eating spicy Asian food ask for spiciness level higher than 5!). We tried the House Thai Tea, Pad Cha, and Pad Kee Mao. Thai Tea was fresh and authentic, better flavor than the ones in bubble milk tea stores. Pad Cha and Pad Kee Mao tasted amazing too! Food here is around $10-20. Great customer service too, they were friendly! Will definitely come back again! Slight note: For people who are concerned about styrofoam packaging, they do use styrofoams for take out. So if you're worried that the hot food might melt the packaging and get plastic on your food, I suggest dining in. You get the extra smile anyways!

Hello, my Celiac and gluten-free friends. This week I'm in Iowa City and we went to Blue elephant. Let me tell you all about the great stuff I experienced. As soon as I asked about gluten-free our waitress ( Jacqui) She was amazing and kept making sure that I am okay with all of the answers . She gave me the gluten-free menu. They seemed very knowledgeable about the things I can eat and I cannot. And she actually brought in the gluten-free soy sauce to show me and I enjoyed it very much and I was very appreciative of that. I had the spring rolls with gluten-free soy sauce and the chicken garlic with sesame oil. I felt very safe eating there. They made so many accommodations for me and I appreciate it. Delicious! If I can give them 10 out of 10 I would.

excellent service and food!! we got the elephant noodles and a chicken stir fry dish and were asked what spice level we wanted 1-5 for both dishes. we love spice so we picked 4 and 5, neither were uncomfortably hot (for us), just enough for a lil nose run. i can’t shut up about how good the food was and would recommend any day! and almost every dish had a tofu or veggie option so pretty veg friendly. they also had signs posted about being understaffed but despite there being several tables and takeout orders their quality of service was not sacrificed at all. 10/10

I called in an order at 5:38pm on a Saturday evening. The person who took my order said it would be 25 minutes. I repeated it back to her and said, “I will see you in 25 minutes.” I showed up at 6:11 PM and my husband went in to get the food. The women at the counter looked surprised and seemed apologetic, and said it would take 10 minutes. 25 minutes later, the food was still not done and we asked how much longer and she said only a few minutes. She then offered to pay for the food and we agreed since it had been about 40 minutes since we first ordered the food and we had children in the car that were getting upset. She then expressed that she would have to personally pay for it herself. So we ended up paying full price. When we finally got the food, the order ticket said 6:11. Proving that they never processed the order when we called and then lied about it taking 10min to make. We understand accidents happen, but to be lied about how long it would take, and that they messed up the first time made us upset. Time is the most valuable thing to us and having our time wasted, made us very upset and ruined our experience with blue elephant. Also- don’t offer to pay for something if you don’t follow through with it. Our server name was Bammy according...

Food is above average. There are other better places in town. The server and cook /owner new we where vegetarians. Couple of dishes we tried to order had fish sauce and we order Something different. Fried rice was brought with eggs, despite saying no to that. My daughter decided she will have it so i ordered another one for my wife and myself. and asked them to make sure NO EGGS or meat. Next dish the noddles they brought out knowing no eggs said the cook already made it. So they served us This time we said no and sent the whole dish back, without touching it. They made the right one. When the bill came they charged for both the fried rice and also 2 noddles dishes. My daughter decide she will eat fried rice so it's fine we will pay for both fried rice dishes. But the noodles can't pay for them making a mistake. Server said the owner asked her to charge as she made it, regardless of us eating the one with Eggs or sending it back untouched no difference to the owner. We initially ordered for 2 main course items they wanted us to pay for 4. After lots of arguing we paid for 3 dishes. Folks this will tell you about their customer service business ethics. They LOVE YOUR WALLET. Not you as a guest...

We arrived at the Blue Elephant and the looks on the inside and outside are very comfortable and welcoming. We got seated very quickly (but keep in mind that we came at a less busy time) and immediately the waiter made sure we were comfortable with our seats and immediately got us water. We got our water and ordered. (Their menu consist of amazing cuisine from different places that you don't usually find in Iowa) Our food came out very fast, and I did not know how amazing this food would be. I have to say, My expectations were pretty low but Wow, this place exceeded my expectations. We ordered: pho (for my sibling) and the rest of the table shared: Tom Yum Seafood Pot, Blue Elephant Glass noodles, and Panang Curry. All were delicious and amazing. The food was a tapestry of salty, sweet, and tangy...
