Typical Mexican food, nothing special. Not great, not terrible Good atmosphere, clean, no issues with the environment.
Service on the other hand.... no bueno. My friend ordered drinks, there was obviously a communication issue, the wrong thing was brought. The waiter was told there was an error and he pretended like he did not understand and walked away. Four drinks sat on the table, we all attempted to drink them, but they were terrible.
Multiple other drinks were ordered, two pitchers of margarita, beers, etc. No complaints with everything else. There was an odd tension after they said the drinks were wrong. The waiter brought a to-go box and a to-go bag, My friend had it in his hand after the waiter walked away, but then the waiter came back and snatched it from his hand to give to the other table that had requested it.
Upon leaving we told the lady up front that there had been an error with the drinks and that the waiter ignored us when they told him, which is absolutely true. She said how many didn't get drunk? We said basically all of them which is true. Two were completely full of the top, the other two had a combined total of three quarters. So maybe one total was gone out of four, but only because they sat there and we were trying to do the right thing by drinking them. We were told that the waiter didn't want to have to pay for them because it was a slow night.
All of a sudden we are now in the drama of the restaurant. Why are they charging this poor waiter commercial costs for drinks that were wrong? Maybe this is why he didn't want to resolve the issue initially and why he became very irritated after the drink incident. We opted to just pay for them if that was the issue after going back and forth about the drinks, but eventually she said she would take care of it and they wouldn't charge him.
We even tipped him a total of close to $40 just in case he did get charged. I don't blame him, I blame the policies of this place and for that reason I won't be supporting it any longer. There are far too many other Mexican restaurants in this town. You shouldn't go to dinner, be given the wrong thing, be expected to keep it and pay for it, then have to deal with a bunch of drama at the time you pay your check.
I think we are all very reasonable, this was definitely the first time I experienced anything like this in the last 15...
Read moreThis has always been our favorite Mexican restaurant. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here 5 and a half years ago. We’ve had anniversary parties here. I’ve always said they have the best Mexican food around. While the quality of the food hasn’t seemed to diminish, the service definitely has. Last night we went with my family, my husband and I arrived first. We would have ordered before my parents got there, but our server disappeared quickly after dropping off our drinks and we didn’t see her again until several minutes after my parents had sat down and been looking at the menu. By the time she came back to take their drink order everyone was ready to order their food also. The food took forever to come out, she never came by to offer a refill on salsa and chips, and when the food finally came out, it came out 2 dishes at a time. Soon everyone had their food except for my husband. The server came after the food was dropped off to see if we needed anything, some asked for salsa, lime wedges (which we supposed to come with one of the meals, but we’re missing) and we told her he was still missing his food. We waited… and waited… She came back with salsa and limes… we waited some more. When it finally came out, it was steaming hot, obvious that they had forgotten to make it. And he gets 3 bites in and finds a hair in it. Quickly, he loses his appetite, mood soured, he goes out to the car to wait for me to pay the bill and leave. Our waitress was nowhere to be found for at least the next 15 minutes maybe longer… everyone else had been long finished eating and ready to go. We had to ask another server to go find our waitress. Thankfully they removed the charge for my husbands food, but the experience was enough to say that we...
Read moreWent here last week and not sure why the food quality has changed so much. I ordered a beef and cheese quesadilla with a side of guacamole salad (salad alone was $5). When it came out the first thing I noticed was my $5 guacamole salad was simply the lettuce tomato guacamole they normally put on the side of dishes. The tomatoe was so unripe it was solid green. The guacamole was light green and tasted horrible, nothing like any guacamole I've ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant before. I asked waiter to bring me a ripe tomatoe! Took a bite of my meal and no cheese to be found in it and the meat was so ground fine they must have used a device to pulverize it up. It tasted and looked like potted meat! I was not able to stomache this food it was that bad!! I am a eater. I love food! Also, I ordered cheese dip with no jalapeños and it tasted like they were doing a half mix of flour/milk sauce with cheese sauce to cut costs because it was not good at all and you could taste the flour and no cheese taste. My husband ordered hard tacos and they came with soo much cheese piled high and fell all over the plate, but my quesadilla which was supposed to have cheese, had none (but he argued it was on there). The salsa was way to spicy hot. SMH. This place used to be sooo good (my previous rating was 5*) It either changed ownership or they don't care anymore. It used to be very busy but was not this night....
