Al's Bar and Grille — Restaurant in Cornelius

Man I hate doing this, but I got to do it because I do feel that this place discriminated on me just because I came into the establishment with a Caucasian woman. This past Sunday a friend of mine and I wanted to grab something to eat that was close. Using Google Al's bar and grill was the first to come up. I called and asked him if they had wings. They said yeah. We drove up there. I got to the bar, went to the bathroom, came back, the bartender I had already told my friend that she couldn't serve us because her supervisor asked her not to because the supervisor thought that we were drunk. There was no evidence to indicate intoxication. As a matter of fact we was going to have a few drinks at that bar. At any rate we found wings right around the corner at another bar only to find out that another customer of Mexican descent had experienced that same problem at Al's bar and grill. I really want to try them out I love patronizing local businesses. I think owners of businesses like this should know who they have working for them. I don't know if the owner is as racist as that supervisor but long story short I will not be going back there. And obviously I don't have anything good to say about that establishment for treating...

I’ve had so many great meals at this place but today was a real disappointment and we probably won’t be back for a while. As a parent of two it’s tough to ever get out and with the pandemic on top of it all this was the first time we got a chance to get out without the kids. Our meals took forever to come out and they were really quick foods; burger, salad, wings and tater tots. Took at least 30 minutes. The server never once asked us if we needed anything before or during the meal. Never had our drinks refilled. The burger was super dry and so were the wings. The server also got the order wrong, asked for all flats which she said was no problem then brought a plate of flats and drummers. The salad, ceasar salad, had barely any dressing and the lettuce was wilted. There were only 3 tables filled yet we barely saw this server, maybe she was doing the cooking too because it would be the only explanation for her lack of service and quality of the food. I came here on a Thursday night. It was loud and kids running every where. Very small bar/restaurant. I ordered the sweet chilli wings which were small but not too chewy. I liked the sauce. I think my waitress was covering the entire restaurant, it took awhile to get my order in. My dinner was disgusting, I ordered the chicken cordon blue w pasta. It did not look as described on the menu. The chicken ham and swiss were not rolled and fried or baked. It looked like it had batter on both pieces of chicken but it was not fried-it was mush. No Swiss cheese. The ham was 2 big pieces on top...very odd. It was served in a bowl w alfredo pasta under the chicken. Very difficult to eat-it was a mess. The chicken was so mushy, I couldn't even eat it. The garlic bread was even mush. They need to take that item off of the menu or make it the traditional way. The 2 stars is for the...
