12/20/20 Update: Tried to order through the app again. Upon arrival I gave my code as instructed in the app - the lady in the drivethrough said the order never went through (even though I had an email confirming said order already from McDonalds). I was told to park and that someone would come out and check the order - which they ultimately did. While it again wasnt as speedy of an experience as I would have liked - I'd recently read an article talking about how McDonalds corporate forces down the expense of a lot of the new self ordering options/app integrations on franchise operators - which I think is absolute BS. So I dont blame the local ownership of this McDonalds completely for these issues because I believe the problems experienced here are really due to McDonalds corporate forcing these new things on franchisees without the appropriate resources/support to use them. So while my 2 star review is reflected here - in honesty I would give the location itself a 3-4 star as they have addressed my issues relatively quickly in both order experiences, but would give McDonalds corporate 0 stars in the way they are supporting their franchise owners.

Pretty miserable experience. I don’t know why I bother ordering through the app. I get here and they have nothing ready and ask me to pull forward and wait 15 min. I only ordered nuggets and fries, nothing special. I won’t be back.

Read moreTerrible! First thing we heard when we walked in the door was the manager yelling at all the employees. A big white uneducated sounding woman. My husband and I ordered and the two young kids at the register were very pleasant and helpful, seemed they were very stressed out by the manager, not the customers. We were having trouble with our McDonald's app that we use all the time and when I tried to ask the manager a question about it she made it seem like I was stupid and need to re-register but apparently the app was down. She embarrassed me in front of other people and made me angry by being loud and in my face. From past experience it seems as if management is going downhill at McDonald's corporations. I meant to get the $2 milkshake and accidentally ordered the medium when I asked why it was 279 instead of $2 she started arguing with me because she didn't realize that it was the smalls that were the $2, the young kids knew that and she didn't then proceeded to follow me when I walked around to go back to my seat to continue getting in my face and threatened to call the police on me because I told her that she shouldn't be a manager. I will never go back to the catawaba and Cornelius McDonald's ever again. I feel very sorry for their employees having to work under such terrible management. Read moreWhile I was placing my order, the employee couldn't hear me well and asked me to speak up, so I had to almost yell. I ordered a sweet tea with my meal. When I reached the 2ND window I paid the cashier and then I was told to pull up because my fries were not done. At least 5-6 cars were able to get their orders before someone came out to with my food, at which point I was already on my way inside because I had noticed that my order said Un-sweetened tea. I had called the store's phone number listed on the receipt to try to let them know before the employee came out with my food, but no one answered after 10 rings on two separate calls. After I went inside to get my drink, the Manger proceeded to help with the drive thru orders instead of giving me the correct drink which I explained wad the reason I was on my way inside. She then gave me the wrong drink, which I didn't find out until after I had gotten back to my car. So I had to go in Again. Then she gave the wrong drink Again. I tasted it right there at the counter so she then corrected my drink and gave a half - assed apology. When I said thank you for my drink, she didn't even say you're welcome. Highly dissatisfied with this visit, which isn't even the worst one.
