Visiting from 7 hours away and this was the first dinner choice and let me tell you I was more than impressed. Came in a bit late but was still greated by everyone with a smile. I got spicy garlic edamame and it was soft and well cooked, you can taste the fresh garlic and peppers. The Fuji sea crunch was so tasteful every bite registered a new taste, it's recommended to take two bites per roll. For sushi, aka house and Bushido were mind blowing, honestly this has been the best sushi I have ever had and I am I big sushi eater and taster in every city I go to and I can't say enough good things about the taste, everything was fresh and made finely. They had soju so I had a straw berry. Service: our server was Ms. KAY and let me just start by saying thank you to you Ms Kay. You have showed us what real 5 star treatment is, from the moment you greated us to the way you took care of us. Being attentive making sure we never ran out of water, bringing us our food and cleaning our tables to make room for more food, making jokes and being genuine and friendly, pouring our sojo and to top it off, you brought my lady a fried cheese cake for her birthday ever tho I had mentioned we were celebrating it from a month ago on this trip. You went above and beyond to make her happy. She cried of joy and you joining her crying really showed that you love what you do and care about others and that is hard to find these days. May you be filled with blessings, joy and love. Final thought: if we go back to corpus it's definitely just to come eat here, it is thst good.

The waiter (Steve) I had was nice and Attentive, but not too attentive - just right. Not my food, but another table, he was more than willing to help out a person who doesn’t eat fish find a meal she was happy with and recommend substitutions in the bento I gave 4 stars because although the food was good, it was quite expensive. It wasn’t better than cheaper sushi places I’ve been to justify the premium price. It was the same quality, just more expensive. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere with some good decoration. Good amount of people who all seemed to enjoy their food. Music was a good volume. Genre was American pop I think it should be 3 dollar signs ($$$) like Dokyo Dauntaun, but it was 2 on google when I went. The prices between the two places (based on Dokyo’s online menu) were about the same. I got 2 sushi rolls and they were good. The tropical breeze (bottom/left) was very similar in taste to the rainbow roll. The fuji apples are a different texture. I think it was chopped thinly for a different type of crunch compared to a normal slice of cucumber in the roll. The south padre (top/right) tasted similar to a “yummy” roll I’ve had elsewhere. Probably similar to most cooked rolls that have avocado and cram cheese and it had the wasabi on it. I misjudged how spicy the pickled wasabi would be, even when I took it off of the top. The pickled wasabi is more of an American type of spicy than the regular wasabi is (if that makes sense). A lot different than normal wasabi FYI

Oh my goodness! Words cannot express how much we enjoyed this place. The food was amazing, the staff is great and we appreciate that they’re open lunch time on a Saturday. The restaurant is a stand alone with parking at the back. While you walk towards the front door, you cannot miss the beautiful and very detailed mural. Unfortunately, some items we ordered didn’t make it to the camera roll for they were devoured right away. We had the cucumber salad, sunomono salad, garlic and spicy edamame, avocado bomb, shrimp fried rice, aburi salmon and the party boat. Everything was divine, chef’s kiss! We enjoyed the avocado bomb experience and the crunchiness of it. But oh my, I cannot stress enough how good was the aburi salmon, they told us it needs to be eaten just as it is and right away. It was heaven in my mouth. Of course, we had to get their Party Boat, sashimi were cut in perfect thickness and the nigiri with the right amount of rice. Also, the shrimp fried rice was so tasty! They used the big shrimps which were cooked perfectly. I couldn’t get enough of it. They also serve Orion which I had the pleasure of trying, the beer was so smooth and easy to drink. The owner, Wayne, was there walking around checking on customers and was very friendly. Will definitely come back to this restaurant even if it’s a 3-hour drive!

A Slice of Sushi Heaven in Corpus Christi

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming sushi restaurant in Corpus Christi that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I walked through the doors of this hidden gem, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the cozy and intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. The dim lighting and tasteful decor created a relaxed and inviting ambiance, perfect for a memorable dining experience. The place exuded an authentic Japanese charm, transporting me away from the Texan coastline to the heart of sushi culture.

What truly set this restaurant apart was the incredibly hospitable owners, who took the time to personally welcome and engage with each patron. Their passion for sushi was palpable as they explained the various dishes and their origins, which added an educational element to the meal. Their attentiveness to our needs and preferences made us feel like valued guests rather than mere customers.

The menu featured a wide selection of sushi and sashimi, all beautifully presented with a keen eye for detail. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the skill of the chefs shone through in the exquisite preparation of each dish. I couldn't help but appreciate the dedication to quality and authenticity that the restaurant embodied.

As a delightful surprise, the owners offered a complimentary sashimi platter on the house. This gesture showcased their commitment to ensuring every customer left with a memorable experience. The sashimi was a work of art, a symphony of colors and textures, showcasing the chef's precision in slicing the freshest fish. It was a testament to the restaurant's dedication to exceeding expectations.

The dining experience was further elevated by the carefully curated selection of sake and other beverages, providing a perfect accompaniment to the meal. The knowledgeable staff was more than willing to provide recommendations and help pair drinks with dishes.

In summary, my visit to this sushi restaurant in Corpus Christi was an unforgettable culinary adventure. The owners' hospitable nature, the quality of the dishes, and the overall ambiance made it an exceptional dining experience. I left with a full belly, a satisfied palate, and a profound appreciation for the dedication and care that went into creating this sushi haven. If you're in Corpus Christi and craving an authentic and memorable sushi experience, this restaurant is an...

Not sure how this place has any sort of good review. I came to corpus on a business trip and I love sushi (or anything that's not fast food). To start off I was extremely pissed with the service there. I normally wouldn't care but for the price they are charging it should come with a small side of good customer service. I came around 7pm which was dinner time but surprisingly not busy although the restaurant is rather small. It had about 11 customers or so. I came alone. I was sat down pretty quick but everything after that was far from quick. I sat down and waited 20 mins before I was greeted by my server and asked what to drink. Took at least 10 mins for the drink. Then ordered food. I didn't order much at first. 16 piece chef special sashimi, which wasn't nothing special. 4 small pieces of salmon, tuna, hamachi, and flounder I believe. Only thing that was out of the norm was he flounder. The fish tasted fresh but I waited about 40 mins for that. 35$ and was not worth it at all. I been to dozen of sushi places all over the US and I been to $-$$$$ places but I feel like I wouldn't pay over 20$ for this if I knew what it was. Second I placed an order for live scallop nigiri and uni because I wasn't satisfied whatsoever so I thought if I pick the items myself I would be more happy. Scallops nigiri was ok $17 for 4 pieces. Once again it was a no price item and if I known I wouldn't have paid. And last but not least the uni. That was the best part of my visit. One of the best I've tasted. Fresh and not a fishy taste like most of the places I tried. I quickly ask for the bill as I seen the waitress pass. My bill was 74$ for just me! Took 10-15mins for the change. I paid with $100 bill and got back mostly 1s and 5s my biggest pet peeve and while giving the change the waitress was SUPER nice. I give tip where I feel like they derseve it. Hell I've given a $160 tip before. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody to be honest. Very disappoint. First and last time...
