Located downtown near shops and restaurants if you want to plan a day outing with a small picnic or family get together. Also, perfect for fishing on the land masses or utilizing the public boat ramp for your boat, kayak/canoe, or jet ski on Coopers Alley where the bait shop is conveniently located. Plenty of rentable scooters (via app) along the seawall to hop on and venture down the way to the American Bank Center, art, and science museums.
You can get live shrimp fresh off the stern (back) of the shrimp boats currently on Lawrence Street T-head pretty much daily between 8am-2pm depending on how quickly they return to the dock and if they sell out quickly. Jane's bait shop on Cooper's Alley also sells fresh bait and fish...they can prepare the cuts for you right there in the shop or let you take care of it as you please. Also, don't forget they have various fishing accessories and refreshments for purchase.
You can rent paddle boats, Surrey bikes, jetskis, on Lawrence Street or the seawall between Lawrence and People's...look up Fun Time rentals for more info on those availability times for your family fun.
The Marina holds 3 restaurants that are sure to fill everyone's appetite. Lawrence Street has Joe's Crab Shack that overlooks the water and allows great views whilst you dine for lunch or dinner! People's Street houses Landry's and the local Harrison's Landing. Landry's is on a retired barge, so you can really feel the waves as the large boats enter the CC Harbor with an outdoor seating area. Harrison's is multiple venues in one: it's a bar, restaurant, gift shop, potential party room upstairs, and boat tour location! The 2nd floor of HL houses another place to dine called The Mariner focused primarily on dishes of the sea. All of these 3 establishments (4 if you include The Mariner located inside Harrison's) offer inside AND outdoor dining...weather permitting, so bring what makes you feel conformable in the sun, wind, rain, and don't forget about the seagulls that are abound out here. Just a forewarning that they can be quite brave and get within a foot of you if you leave food out in the open as they have been desensitized to human interaction. They are willing to steal your unattended food if you are not vigilant.
As with most things, call the respective locations for more details, but that should give you a few ideas before you venture down here. I will try to add more later on, but don't forget all of the motels in the area, some with great restaurants located inside them as well for other dining options. I truly hope you enjoy your time and visit to the CC Marina.
*Jan 2025: Please be mindful of the piers being constructed on Lawrence and boardwalk on People's St. Businesses are still open even though they may appear to be closed off with construction fencing blocking the...
