Went here on a Friday night, we had to wait about 20 minutes which was to be expected.
Our waitress was friendly, and made sure our meals were good and our drinks were always topped off.
The live music was great, it’s just loud. I could barely hear myself when I would try to say something to my husband. Granted, we were right next to the music and speaker.
From the outside, you would expect it to be as good as it actually was because the building looked like it had been there for a while now.
We ordered the calamari, fried mushrooms, and a side salad. The calamari was good and the breading was light. It paired well with the marinara sauce. I wished it wasn’t such a little cup of sauce especially with how much calamari was in the basket. The fried mushrooms were nice and crispy. It was still warm throughout eating our meal as well. It was served with ranch and I was glad they were whole fried mushrooms and not sliced like how some places serve them. The salad was fresh, and the lettuce was not wet or soggy. I got the in house Blue Cheese dressing, the dressing wasn’t too strong on the blue cheese taste either.
My husband ordered the Grog, he said it was good but strong with all the alcohol in it. For the price it was good.
I got the Blackbeard's Baja Tacos with fried fish. The description on the menu said it was served with corn tortillas but mine was served with flour which wasn’t a big deal. I didn’t really care for the charro beans though. The fish was perfectly fried, and the fish held its shape and didn’t fall apart. The sauce was sweet, it seemed like it was topped with coleslaw which it pretty much was. My husband got the Tacos Pescado with grilled fish. He enjoyed his tacos a lot. He practically ate everything off his plate. It was also supposed to be served on corn tortillas as well, but instead it was served with flour tortillas.
Overall, the prices were very reasonable and we will be back! A good place for fish tacos...
Read moreWe ate at Blackbeard’s on the Beach on 5/19/25 around 2pm, and it was a disaster from start to finish. Our waitress was absent the entire time—had others bring our food, never checked on us, and we had to ask other servers for everything. It took over 20 minutes to get stale chips and salsa, and we were never offered drink refills by her.
The Baja fish tacos and coconut shrimp were the only decent part of the meal. But when we ordered the tres leches cake, it came with walnuts—which were not listed on the menu, and the server did not notify us. When we finally after a few bites noticed them and we asked, she didn’t even know what type of nut was on it saying it could be coconut. Then when she asked the kitchen she tried to claim that “there is usually walnuts on tres leches” which is simply not true. I had a reaction, and instead of showing concern or empathy or support, the staff argued with me and took no responsibility. When I spoke with the manager he was shifted blame to me and even made me cry.
On top of that, both the bathroom and kitchen, which were right next to each other 🤮 looked like they were in complete shambles—dirty, disorganized, and unprofessional.
We will never be back. Poor service, unsafe food practices, and a filthy...

In 2017, me and my family arrived in Corpus. I had been holding in the need to use the restroom so as soon as we got inside, my family sat down and I went to the bathroom in this weird hallway between the dining area and perhaps kitchen area.
As soon as I got in and shut the door, all of a sudden the door started jerking like someone was trying to open the door and giggling the door knobs. I called out "Someone's in here"
I finished up and as I was washing my hands, the door started jerking and handle jiggling - I threw open the door expecting to see my dad or a worker but the hallway was - EMPTY.
I walked back into the dining room and my family was at the table. I sat down and asked if they saw anyone in the hallway? They said no. I told them what happened and they dismissed my experience.
A week or so later, I was curious about haunted spaces in Corpus and Blackbeard's popped up. Chills travels all over my body. Even to this day as I type this - chills. It was such a cool, creepy experience like l've never experienced before.
Go for the food. Stay...
