Flanagan's Downtown — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

My wife and I went there last night to watch the Kansas/North Carolina game. We each got pints of beer from their taps. Both of our beers tasted metallic-like. I tried putting a lime in mine and my wife tried salt in hers. Neither did anything to make the beers drinkable. We had taken two or three sips of each pint so I brought them back up and said to the young lady that there must be something wrong with their tap lines because the beers (we had two different beers) tasted like metal. She said, "you had a bad lime?" I said "No, the LINES are bad with your taps"but that didn't seem to register with her so I told her the beers were awful and we ended up getting bottled beer instead. When we got the bill we were charged for the two beers we barely touched. Also, we wanted to hear the NCAA game announcers and sometimes we could but mostly the bar played mexican music over the PA. It was a bad experience that could have been fixed by a savvy bartender who knew not to charge us for the beers we returned (and that's a first for us--never have been charged in the past) and when someone tells you came there to watch a game--have the sound on for that game. My bf and I were recommended this place by a next door bar. We came ,ordered coctails, half way through our coctails,we ordered some food and had an open tap at the bar. We went outside to smoke because we didnt know that there is a smoking area inside and as soon as we came in, our cocktails were gone. Our blond waitress took them saying that she thought we were gone even though we literally just came and didnt even finish our first drink. Me and my girlfriend got kicked out because I was wearing a James Avery necklace with a cross on it. Three bouncers walked up to us to kick us out and intimidating my girlfriend. As they were kicking us out they had already over-served my girlfriend which I had to carry her out, I asked the bouncers several times to give me a moment so that I could allow my girlfriend to drink some water, bouncer states “no you can go and order water somewhere else with a derogatory name being called after.
