This venue sucks. It isn't a concert area or a military base, but no bags of any kind are allowed. And it was super embarrassing to have to take everything out of my pockets, including my feminine hygiene products and my belt cause it's metal. They really need to have more awareness and to stop with their speech: "Take everything out of your pockets. Electronics, metal, and chains or coins etc." We get it, okay. This isn't an airport so the security is rather excessive. Even at a rock concert you CAN have a bag. Elderly, handicapped, no one was allowed a bag through their metal detectors. And if you beeped they'd search you over with a wand handheld metal detector. I used to work as a CO (correctional officer), and I could get through their security in a more timely manner. AND with a clear bag of my items. That's right even a prison would let me have a bag. Would let the visitors of the inmates have a bag. Would let anyone have a bag to take in as long as it and all the items in IT were clear and see-through.
Get over yourselves. People have medicine they need with them.
Also if we aren't allowed to sit somewhere... Put.A.Sign.UP. if seats are open, guess what? I'm sitting. I drove nearly 4 hours to get here, and they told me to move in a rude matter of fact way. I'm never going back. Just wanted to support my family, and the employees ruined it for us. And no popcorn just overpriced chips and candy. Why do you have it on the menu if it's not available??? You're basically a convenience store at that point. And I saw 4 employees simply standing there watching the chips and candy. You really do not need that many people to hand out chips and candy. Gas stations I get. But seriously? Over staffed in several ways. OH YEAH BEST PART THE 15 DOLLAR PARKING FEE.. TO PARK IN A GRAVEL LOT. with again way too many people for them to just take money and point at an empty spot which is basically the whole lot. Completely unnecessary because hello park next to another car then they do it and so on to the next car etc. You don't need a team of 15 or 20 to do something so basic.
Instead of doing things like that, maybe. Just maybe spend that money on good employees, fair or less restrictive rules, signs, arrows, and maybe if everyone was just standing around have one of those employees walk people or lead them to empty seats.
The event was a graduation for...
Read moreThis review will start with me being extremely embarrassed and humiliated by the security team of men at the entrance to the american bank center. I am a woman who suffers from heavy menstrual cycles (Menorrhagia). I have to carry a purse that will hold my feminine products to accommodate my situation. We were excited to take our children to the hockey game tonight, as they never been able to experience that before. To my surprise, we were approached by security and they told me i couldn't take my purse in. I of course explained my situation and was more then willing for them to go through my belongings and search what was in my purse. He basically laughed and mansplained to me and the general public that surrounded my family and I, that i could not have my purse. He said to us that i could put my feminine products in a clear plastic trash bag that he would provide us with. This man was almost yelling at us at this point and made it a point that he was the authority around here. My husband asked to speak with a supervisor and if he could please deescalate the situation. At this point my husband went and found the acting security supervisor and explained our situation. The supervisor then said I could carry my feminine products in my pockets, I said i'm very embarrassed to do that as i carry more then most. He then went on to say in a condescending manor, that your husband could put them in his pockets. I said that is not OK and that if you even understood my condition, you would understand that it is not possible. Then the supervisor says that he does it for his wife and proceeds to say that this is not a real medical condition and that no provision will be made to accommodate your condition. My husband ask the supervisor if he wouldn't mind stating that on video... the supervisor laughed and said,"really why would i do that." My husband then said lets just return our tickets and leave. The supervisor says, "well you cant return those tickets as those are vouchers"( in a very dis-respective manor.) We where given those vouchers from a very respected person of the community in the coastal bend and they will not be happy when they learn of our unfortunate and very embarrassing evening that our children or us will not...
