My wife and I used to work at Red lobster when we were 18 before we were married back in 2006 and we’ve been going here off and on since then. We go every a few times every few years because apparently we have to be reminded exactly why we stop going each time. We don’t really like eating inside any restaurants anymore so we order to-go 99% of the time which is what we did at red lobster 3 times in the past few months. The food is good enough but the service is bad each and every time. The first time they forget my fried shrimp. I tell them they forgot and they want to argue and say we put exactly what’s on the ticket. Then I have to show them the ticket to prove them wrong. Then it ends up when I get home I find out they forgot the baked potatoes as well. The second time they forgot the condiments and lemons and plastic ware. The Caesar salad which is usually one of the highlights was inedible bc it was drowning in so much dressing. Tonight, I ordered online and I received a notification that the order was ready after 30 minutes. I went to the restaurant and was greeted by the hostess but when I went to the to-go counter I was greeted like usual, with silence and no acknowledgement. I asked for my food after 10 minutes of it being ready and just got a “we’re really busy” response. There were barely any people there as we were there an hour before closing on a Sunday. The second time I asked it had been 30 minutes after the food was ready (one hour after ordering) the unhelpful bartender just said “I don’t know the name”. So I told him and he came back and said, you guessed it “were just really busy”. The manager came out 10 minutes after that and I told her it been over an hour since I ordered and she said they’re bagging it now. Five more minutes pass and i let the bartender know that I don’t want the food and I left. Like I said, I worked at Red Lobster and in the food industry for the first few years of my working life so I know how busy it can be and how, no matter what, there will be unhappy customers. But 3x in a row of unhelpful, unfriendly (sometimes just rude), and just plain bad service is not a fluke and I’ve already had enough this time around. See you in another 3 years for them cheddar bay biscuits Red Lobster 👋 Tldr: Red Lobster has good food sometimes but the service(and sometimes food for the price) is...
Read moreI’ve been to many Red Lobster restaurants, and I had not had any issues before, until now. After they sat us down and the waitress came over, I had a feeling that we were going to have a bad experience. The waitress was loud, obnoxious, and overbearing. She became annoyed when my wife asked for a small change on the Seafood platter, that both of us were ordering. She said, with an annoyed voice, “we don’t do that here”. To drink, I ordered something that I had not ordered before, a “Caramel dream”, and my wife ordered a sweet tea. The “Caramel dream”, which is an alcoholic drink, was served in a tall, skinny glass. The glass was filled up to the top with ice. Without exaggeration, I finished the drink in two, small sips. I’m 62 years old, and I’ve probably complained about an order 3 or 4 times before. But filling a glass full of ice with very little alcohol, and whatever else they put in, and charging $10.99 for it, is absolutely ridiculous. I immediately waved at the waitress to come over, and explained to her what happened. Again, she seemed annoyed that I was complaining, and said that if I didn’t like something that she must bring over the manager. She said, with an attitude, “I’m only a waitress”. When the manager came over and I told her that the glass was full of ice, and that I had finished the drink in two sips, she said, “that’s how the drink is made, and nobody has complained until now”. I said, “really, you just can’t remove some of the ice and redo the drink”? She said, with an attitude, “no, that’s how the drink is made”. Instead of telling me that she wasn’t going to charge me, or at least offering to give me a discount, she said, “that’s how the drink is made, and you’re going to have to pay for it.” I was so angry that I told her to “get the hell out of here.” We still had not received our food yet, so I just paid for the drink and the iced tea, and left. Neither the waitress, nor the manager should work in this type of industry again. Both of them are horrible at their...
Read moreHaven't been to Red Lobster in over 20 years and after this experience don't plan to ever go back. First sign I should have turned around and left was the smell. The smell of sour cleaning water. Maybe 6 people eating as we walked in just after 3pm on Thursday. But ended up being seated at a dirty table. Waitress apologized for the dirty table. We order a wine and a beer with 2 waters. We get the wine fairly quick, but beer comes out after 5 minutes (apology for beer taking long). But we did get one straw, not sure what for, since we never received our waters. We both decide to order the all you can eat shrimp, but the shrimp size was extremely small and the only shrimp that had any kind of flavor was the shrimp scampi. As we finished the first plate, I ordered the scampi. This order came out 15 minutes later. Waitress apologized for the time it took to "prepare". Mind you, now there is only two couples eating in the restaurant now. Gf orders another scampi as I'm getting my plate. Another 15 possibly 20 minutes goes by, the she receives her plate. Another apology. Beginning to think Red Lobster trains their staff on "taking your time" or stalling on all customer orders involving All You Can Eat orders so customers get "full" and won't eat as much. Also training on constantly "apologizing". To me, this is a refection and fault of the managers. With only 6 customers to serve during this time, there should have been employees cleaning tables, floors, windows, etc. I'm sure there were employees in the back just messing around, talking, not working. Take pride in your restaurant. I'd be embarrassed to say Iwork at this location. Lost a...
