DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse — Local services in Corpus Christi

Today we returned for an exchange or refund the running shoes because they hurt my feet. When asked by the manager at the counter the reason for the return and I told him the reason he informed me that since they had been worn outside the store no exchange or refund was possible. The shoes would be considered damaged, he continued, and could not be resold. He said it was corporate policy, thanked us, and turned away. We had the receipt and told him the return policy wasn’t on it. He responded that at one point it had been, but it no longer was. It was on their website, he added, and again, said it was corporate policy, and dismissively pointed at the entrance. We were surprised by how cold and dismissive he was towards us. I told him we could have gone to Fleet Feet and Academy, which are nearby, places we have given our business to for 25 years, but decided to give DWS a try for a change. He said it was corporate policy, again, and looked away. We told him next time we would be going back to Fleet Feet and would caution friends against purchasing their family shoes at DSW. Extremely poor customer service. I purchased shoes for vacation. I went to pack and noticed my box was stuffed with cardboard and paper and was missing a whole shoe. I looked on the website and stated the store didn’t close till 9. Went back at 8:05 and tried getting someone’s attention because the doors were locked. She shook her head and waived her finger No and then looked at another worker and laughed. I asked multiple times for them to please just look to see that I only had received one shoe. They just continued to look and laugh and the ignored me. As I stood there, there must had been 6 other families that tried coming because the store hours show 9pm. They ruined my outfit...

When I went to DSW, I was really happy with the wide selection of shoes to choose from and the clean, organized set-up they had. I found the shoes I wanted right away and was pleased with how nice the cashier was.

I take off one star because the prices of some of these shoes are a little much. For example, I'm not looking to spend more than 40 dollars on a pair of sandals (Birkenstocks) - that's insane! But the sneakers I purchased...
