We came to Corpus christi from San Marcos, Austin, and Indiana to spend a little time with my dying aunt . Been at hospital since the day before . We were hungry and looked for a place to eat this place had 4.6 so we all went there it was for a group of 8 AND we thought it was closed cause no cars in parking lot BUT it was open so we walked in the WAITRESS from the get go just looked at us I brushed it off . She sat us down my aunt started to tell her we were from out of town because of her sister didn't have long to live and the WAITRESS just said ok. We sat there for a minute before she came to get our drink order at that time rolling her eyes just standing there in a very low voice what do you want (not what can I get you) she took our order of food but kept skipping me i was very nice after she got every one and read the order back we were like ma'am you never got my order she shook her head and came back and got my order . It spirals out of control 4 of the orders idk but they were totally wrong the cook had to come and ask what we ordered. Then HE apologized for her saying she was new and she had pissed him off since yesterday she got orders wrong . HE did try to fix it but we were past that. One of my cousin was like don't even waist your time making my plate because the rest of us had our plates and it was gonna be a minute. This WAITRESS came to our table to argue with us . We had no refills she sent a different person to fill our drinks THEY were NOT busy 2 other people were way on the other side. We probably sat for an hour and a half ! She charged the plate that my cousin said don't make (and) they did but wanted to charge her she told them im not paying for something I didn't get ! The WAITRESS told her she was going to call the cops on my cousin so my cuz sat there and said call them ! I started crying the WAITRESS said im sorry i was like we are going through a family matter of my aunt not have long to live we just wanted to eat and relax we told you and you were emotionless and we...
Read moreI had a hankering for fajitas so, I and a friend decided to try Senor Jaime's as it was recommended to us through another mutual friend. We were not impressed. Prices were higher than what the menu said and we were told upon checkout that if we paid cash the cost would be lower. The server/manager said the menu was out of date and the price was different. We weren't told that in the beginning. I ordered a mixed fajita that was supposed to have been 13.99, Ended up being 15.99. The chips and salsa was also 6.00 not provided as they are at every other Mexican restaurant anywhere. The beef was like leather and the chicken was dry. I'll never go back. On a scale of 5 I'd rate the food and service as a 3. On a scale of 10, I'd rate the whole thing as a 5. The only "good" thing that was acceptable was it wasn't 'loud' no banging music or children. Maybe they have better service and food during happy hour or evening hours. We arrived a little after noon. I hate the business wasn't all it was hyped up to be; and I'm sorry to be a poor customer, but I work hard for my extra money and expect to get what I pay for nothing less. 23.00 for two fajitas and a glass of water...
Read moreI’m not sure if this place is experiencing the “can’t find employees” problem or not, but we didn’t find many. I’ve been here several times, often part of a large group, and it’s always been great. Even though I called ahead twice before coming in with a moderate sized group, they took issue with us splitting checks versus the entire party on one. Service was ultra slow, it wasn’t our server’s fault, it’s management’s problem for not having enough staff. They didn’t have a bartender present, either, so our server had to make drinks. The chef’s kiss was when the server accidentally ran my sister’s card for $5k instead of $50. Time to call Gordon, I suppose.
Edit: one year later about, same problems. Food is great. Our server was wonderful, albeit short handed. I’m going to guess the “host” at the door when we came in was a manager—whom immediately told us how it might be hard to find a table because their bus boy didn’t come in—while I’m staring at empty, set tables. So, I’ve found your problem, ownership. Get a new GM cuz this guy is...
