I was having a rough day and I had some time to kill before an appointment. I went on a Friday afternoon. I was greeted by everyone in the place. I sat down and the bartender says, "watermelon?" I said yes questioningly.. he made me an excellent drink with watermelon in it. He didn't ask about a tab, didn't rush me.. it was like he knew I was having a rough day. We made casual conversation and I also held conversation with a few others at the bar who appeared to have some kind of connection to the place. My day turned around thanks to the simple gesture. What a fantastic place. We were just passing through for a night, and told the bartender (Will) as much, but that did not stop him and the rest of the crew from chatting us up and suggesting some amazing beers. This is for sure a locals joint, but their incredible welcoming of people they will likely never see again was awesome.

They have a great selection of beers (about 40) on tap, and an additional selection of cans, plus a full bar. We had some gator bites, which were delicious, and quite a few beers. Everything was great, but what truly sets this place apart is the employees, and the welcoming nature of the locals who were at the bar.

So I’m there having a drink….just one. And I’m having a conversation about music with the guy who is playing the joke box. The conversation turns to politics and he and I are on the same page. The bartender Tiffany (who seems to be very UP if you know what I mean) interrupts us and becomes aggressive and combative with me about our conversation. I tell her that we weren’t taking to her and that it has nothing to do with her or the bar and to please leave us to our conversation.
