Le Patissiér — Restaurant in Corvallis

Obviously this is a great place with wonderful pastries. However I have been in this establishment already a couple of times to purchase items and been told they can't sell to me because they may need the items for later... uuhhmm what?? I thought the whole point was to sell as many items/per day as possible. A sell out is a great day for any retail model. Apparently not for Chef Didier who allegedly has told his staff not to sell out of an item. Today I was in there with my family, a family of 3 plus buying for my sister, a family of 5. We never spend less than $50 a visit in there. There were 5 fruit tarts in the display. I wanted to buy all of them but the server let me know if these were the only ones left, she could not sell them to me as they are needed for other people... I'm sorry, what?!? This is what Chef Didier has instructed his servers we were told. Unfortunately this is not the first time i experience this. It's a great lil place with some great food but if I can't spend my money purchasing what i want, I'll gladly...

5/16 Edit: stopped in this morning for a to-go pastry (thank you for being open during COVID) and I was once again delighted. Best pastries in Corvallis. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely delicious. I’ve been going here for about a year and have been completely satisfied with all the pastries I’ve had (I haven’t yet tried the crepes but I hear they are delicious). The almond creams and fresh fruit tarts are particularly amazing. As a baker myself, I can really tell that they care about their food, and are dedicated to making it perfect. One thing I would strongly recommend is if you want to do a large order (more than a few pastries), call ahead and order it the day before, as they do small batch bakes. If you call at least a day ahead they will be able to accommodate you. Overall, excellent food, lovely decor, professional...

The pastries are, of course, superb. But although this wonderful bakery has great reviews on atmosphere from years ago, it unfortunately suffers in this area today. Last time I was here was a year or so ago, and you couldn’t sit anywhere as all the tables and chairs were stacked up. Currently, there are tables for two’s around the perimeter of the room and the rest of the tables and chairs are stacked up in the middle. You would think they could find a better place for storage as it detracts from the atmosphere, and there is no accommodation for a...
