The Kebab Shop — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

I am obsessed with this place. Everything I've had has been consistently amazing and yummy. I had the San Diego wrap last time but didn't want the feta cheese so the guy actually recommended I get the Fries wrap which I didn't even know that was on the menu but it's basically what I wanted. I also got one of their new sides, I got the plate and had the steak and the brown rice and a side salad. Their brown rice was so soft and perfectly cooked, I couldn't believe how moist it was! I've never had brown rice that good before! So good that I can eat it by itself without any meat! The steak was good, but a little hard for me so I want to try the other meat next time. I always love their chicken here so that's my usual. And the sauces are what's addicting. I love the yogurt and the spicy cilantro! Even their salad dressing is yummy and would actually want it as a dipping sauce. I can't wait to come back here again, definitely...

This place has good food. The service is horrible. I have been to the Kabab Shop in Irvine and was really excited when I saw they were opening a location in Costa Mesa, close to home. First time I went there, a complete disaster but they were new. The food was good but not worth the wait. Tried again a week or so later, got home, it was the wrong order and it took a long time. Decided to try again today but this time, I called in my order. I got there within 10 minutes or so but they didn't have an order for me. I repeated my order 5 times, the usual confusion. The woman at the counter told him over and over she processed my order. After about 10 minutes, I was so frustrated, I said never mind. I was told my order was ready. Will never go back here again. And, for the owner or management...try calling on a Friday evening, no one picks up the phone. Too bad, this place had potential. Poorly...

Honestly very disappointed.. I took my husband aunt and son there a couple months ago and we were very happy and satisfied with the quality and taste of the food we had. Today we went back but this time with my uncle and parents as well only to receive much smaller portions, rice was old and tasted bad, fries were stale and tasteless, lamb/ beef was dry and seemed over cooked and old, the garlic yogurt seemed to not be under temperature control and now about 6 hours later 3 of us are experiencing food poisoning symptoms.. can’t believe how disappointed I am :( Don’t think I will be coming back.. for the price I paid and the impression I had I expected so much more and was very let down. Complaint to health...
