This is the REAL DEAL!! These are super authentic tacos and Mexican soups. And super delicious. The service is excellent, I love that it is a small place run by a local family. So far everything I've had was incredibly fresh and tasty. The last time I had anything that approached the flavor profiles they achieve was in Mexico.I highly recommend you give Don Taco a try. Oh, did I mention it's a fantastic value? You can eat like a king for under $10.

Ate here for lunch on a Saturday. We had the Don Taco (steak), shrimp, and lengua (beef tongue) tacos along with a Mexican pizza. All were delicious!. The shrimp tacos were the clear winner with the lengua a close second. The Mexican pizza had a pupusa base covered with smashed black beans and topped with chicken(or whatever meat you choose), Cilantro and onions. The homemade green and red sauces were also tasty. We'll be back!

I have been coming here for years. They have the best food around. We went yesterday and the air conditioner was still broken as it was last year when we went. It had to be 90 degrees in there. I spent almost $100 and it was so hot in the restaurant we could not enjoy our meal. We took the food home. For what people spend to eat here the air conditioning should have been fixed by now. Sadly we will not be returning.

I'd give Don Taco Village zero stars if I could. I've been out to eat enough times to know that no experience will be perfect, but the number of disappointing aspects of this restaurant is mind-boggling.

We went to Don Taco Village for lunch and wanted to beat the rush, so we arrived a little before noon. The restaurant was empty and filled with smoke. At first it smelled amazing, but after sitting in that environment for a while, my eyes began to burn.

Since it was our first time, we sat with the menus to decide what we wanted before we ordered at the counter. After walking up to the counter, we probably waited at least five minutes for the woman to come out of the kitchen and help us.

We ordered two birria tacos, one Don Taco style-grilled steak taco, a medium chori-queso, one street corn, and two drinks. We wanted horchata and melon but were told they didn't have either. We settled on two lime-cucumber drinks, which were WAY too sweet.

According to the prices on their printed menus, our total before tax should've been $26.50. Instead, our total was $42.00. The woman kept having to answer the phone and take orders while she was ringing us up, so we didn't have a chance to clarify the price difference.

The tacos were tasty, but very small. There was no chorizo in the chori-queso and it was watery and tasteless. The chips were overly fried.

When our food was brought to us the woman said the street corn was on the way. By this point, there was a line nearly out the door and it was just this one woman taking orders, answering the phone, and bussing tables. Eventually the street corn came after we had finished the rest of our food. It was mediocre at best.

Why is this place so popular? The food is incredibly over priced (assuming they raised their prices and didn't update their menus?) and the service isn't great....

I've been here about 30 times this year. The food is always fantastic. The service is great and the waitresses are awesome. Today I pulled up to get more food and I have a long bed truck that is huge. I parked at the end of the lot so I wouldn't be In anybody's way and a young gentleman hustled out to tell me to move my truck that I was sticking too far in the road, which if it would have been true would have been none of his business . However, I walked to the back of the truck because I thought surely he was wrong and I was 4 to 5 feet away from the road. I'm 67 so climbing in and out of my truck is problematic to begin with. But I jumped right back in and left! Made me mad enough to where I pulled out and went somewhere else to eat. I'm sure he didn't care but if I ever go back and I see him I'll leave again. I'm thinking he's a relative but I'm not accustomed to getting scolded twice when I'm...

Not good at all. Was very excited to try birria on the Northshore, and will not come back. Smoky and hot indoors. We got birria tacos, and street tacos. The birria was burnt, hard, and greasy. Actually inedible. The lady asked “how is everything” and when I kindly told her what my concerns were, she gave me a sarcastic response saying “yeah they’re tacos made on the grill, so thats why they’re like that”…..This isn’t my first time having birria, and I know how they are prepared, but the lack of accountability or acknowledgement that we were not happy with the food rubbed me the wrong way. She didn’t bother asking if we wanted something else, a refund, or even apologized for the food being burnt. Save yourself the disappointment, and try...
