We went here for a cute little date idea and ended up falling in love with "Seattle Slew" and adopted him! A cat cafe is such a cool idea, and even if you do not necessarily plan on adopting, it's nice to spend time with all of the kittens and have this unique experience. The staff were so kind, and the adoption process was simple. They allowed us to wait 3 days to finally take Seattle home, so we were able to get all the things he would need. The cafe is a good way to get kittens used to people, pets and noises, so these kittens will make a great addition to your family! They take care of spaying/neutering/vaccinations/free microchipping and even give you 30 days of free insurance. We ended up going back to get Seattle's brother, Gallant Fox, and can now say we are proud owners of two kittens that are from Purrfect Day Cat Café and they are just the most purffect boys ever :)
There are a few 1-star reviews that I would like to point out and correct, just in case these are making anyone hesitant on going to the café. Since this is also a café, they DO have drinks and snacks that you can buy, but you absolutely DO NOT have to! We went in and adopted our kitties without buying any food or drinks, and it was not an issue at all. You DO have to pay to go in and hang out with the kittens ($15 per person) but this seems like a fair price, if you want to adopt a kitten without visiting them first then this place is not for you (the whole point is you get to have time to bond with the kittnes). Adopting was not a hard process at all. If anything, I was surprised by how quick and easy it was, we left the café with our second kitten in under an hour. All of the cats seemed happy and healthy, and none of them seemed stressed out. If you want to declaw your cat, this is not the place for you. They are not "tricking" anyone. (Why would they actively agree to let someone permanently hurt their kittens physically and psychologically?). YES, there is a charge for adopting, that is normal no matter where you are going. Even shelters will almost always have an adoption fee, I think it was $145 per kitten. If there is a specific cat that you feel drawn towards, you definitely have the opportunity to bond with it for as long as you want. Yes, there are other people (you can always book on a weekday, and there will be fewer people), but I had no problem looking around, interacting with multiple kittens and bonding with the kitten I wanted. I see a few reviews mentioning that they think the kitten's medical record and issues should have been shared with them, but when we adopted, the café gave us a whole packet full of their histories, dates, vaccinations, and specifically let us know that they did have respiratory issues that were now fixed. Please don't let these bad reviews sway you into not going. This place and their staff are amazing, and they have helped thousands of kitties, this is such a good place to get a well socialized,...
Read morei will have to say that the place is very comforting and nice inside. the cat punned coffee selection is funny and light hearted. however i was told that i was not allowed to adopt a cat. i had made my reservation weeks ago planning everything out. i had gotten everything and more that i could have for a cat!! i was so excited i couldn't wait. my family had come with me and i found the cat that i wanted to take to her forever home. i filled out the paperwork and there was a declawing question. i checked yes as in a maybe because it was not a priority or something i had dead set but i said yes just in case i ever thought of that. i had seen declawed and clawed cats and i didn't think it hurt them, i compared it to a dog getting their tail docked. I'm sitting in the room with the cats and the woman that greeted me came in and the first thing she said was "you are unable to adopt this cat" i immediately started tearing up and crying. she explained that since i checked yes for possible declawing the shelter does not allow adoption. there was no prior information to this. she had gone over how all the cats have vaccines and micro chips. i tried to ask if there was a way i could prove i wouldn't declaw her, sign a contract offering money if they saw she was declawed or any possibly solution. she just told me no in the rudest way possible obviously seeing that i was upset. she has no reason dealing with animals if she can't even say things in a nice way to a girl just wanting a cat. anyway i'm still crying and walk out of the cafe and as soon as i'm out she tells my family "have a great day!" i did not hear this. she purposely said it as soon as she knew i couldnt hear her. i looked through the website to see if i missed any information on declawing. let me be clear, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THAT. i did not know that it hurt them because i researched it after the fact. i used to work at a vet but we handled 95% of dogs so i did not know everything there was to know about cats. i had told the worker this and it seemed like she shoved it in my face as a "you obviously don't work with animals" overall, think if you are trying to give a cat a great amazing home, adopt from a shelter. they have lives that are much worse than the ones at this company. i'm not saying do not adopt those kittys because they all deserve homes. my point is, you should tell people about this beforehand because you are purposely tricking people and this staff member needs to learn to have communication...
Read moreCame expecting to have a good time, ended up having a great time. It's a great place for a kids' birthday party and, apparently, just to relax. I saw a good amount of people that were just there enjoying their time and unwinding. The cat room is great and the cats are so well taken care of. They all seem very happy and the cat room is really quite massive, so there are always some kind of shenanigans going on between the cats.
One thing that is important to note is something that may be very subjective, but it was a big deal for me, and that is that, while we were celebrating in the party room, I don't recall any of the staff coming back to us. If they did, it was quick and quiet, and I REALLY LIKED that. Not a single one of us ever felt rushed or pressured, we felt free to just enjoy. The bar was just around the corner, so it was not at all a big deal to just go there if anyone needed something. Like I said, some may not like that, but personally, I HATE renting a place out and feeling like they're just waiting for you to leave the second you walk in the door. It was just so nice to feel like we getting the space we paid for and we weren't being hassled.
Another thing to note is that it got surprisingly busy. Which is great! It means more business for a great place doing a great service, and a lot of people are giving cats a nice forever home. But I would say to be prepared for it to be more full than you'd expect.
Finally, having read through all the negative reviews, it seems that almost every one of them was based on a misunderstanding of some sort. Even still, it seems the owner takes the reputation of the business very seriously and strives to make everyone as happy as possible. As it turns out, cat cafes seem to be pretty trick to operate and the rules can be quite a bit different than what one may expect. But it's all for a good reason. So if you're thinking of coming here, just read up on the info on how things are done so that you don't find yourself in a situation that may be disappointing. Because I promise you, it's well worth the visit.
Edit to respond to the owner- I know that it's important to bring in lots of people and I fully understand the reasons for the unique method of operation. I just mentioned it because I want people to know that this place is popular, that way they can plan ahead. This is a very good thing and I am so happy for you that you're so successful. Keep up...
