Before crossing the threshold of this splendid shoppe of extraordinary goods, I spotted feline familiars through the glass, guarding against ill intent and beckoning me forward. Upon entering, I discovered that I had traversed the veil from our prosaic, mundane world into a realm of dreams and spirit presence. In the first chamber I found the purveyors of this outstanding establishment treating guests with quiet solicitousness and concern for possible psychic disturbance. Upon perambulation into the second chamber, I found the sense of magic to increase to the point it could be felt as vibrancy from tips to toes. I observed many talismans and mysterious objects, some available for purchase and transport and others to be simply admired carefully in the shadows. Throughout the venue there was an absolutely exquisite attention to minute detail and dark beauty. I allowed myself some time for examination and careful selection and left with several items, seeking to carry a spark of magic with me to my own humble abode. It is now the following day, and upon awakening in the morn, I asked myself if it were all but a lovely dream, the product of my dearest fancy, but lo! I spy my purchases, which give truth to the imaginings. Given all, I recommend this experience of higher consciousness, without reservation, to those seeking mystery beyond the ordinary humdrum world of the day to day....

I cannot overstate how wonderful this shop is. Auger and Coil, the owners, are so kind and personable, that even though the shop was really busy they made us feel like they had the time just to help us and chat.

The store itself is immaculately curated, with a wide variety of books that all seem to work together despite how varied they are. The store is also filled with relics, artifacts, and oddities that give the store a museum-like quality (but also cozy!) Magical reagents are stored on the shelves in hand-lettered glass jars, and their inventory is extensive, included rare ingredients. I noticed that stuffies and picture books are placed on low shelves for children to discover. Your purchases are beautifully wrapped and sealed with wax. I could spend hours here pouring over every detail. You can really see the deep love and care that Auger and Coil put into making their shop truly special.

I wandered in today after seeing photos online and wasn’t disappointed!! The shop is beautiful beyond words. In an age of competition, ascetic is important and Hierophany and Hedge nails it. They have an amazing selection of books, herbs, candles, tools and more. Despite being a smaller storefront that had a decent amount of customers and two people working, no one was ignored. I was visiting family in Cincinnati and made the short drive over. I wish it was closer to where I lived, but I’ll be back without a doubt. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, personable but in no way pushy. I highly recommend stopping by!

Editing January 2025- on my most recent visit, the store has opened up a back area filled with books and some other items. The book selection is amazing and everything I wish other metaphysical stores had! They’ve got a bit of everything in their book selection, from different pantheons and practices to novels and children’s books as well as some rarer titles.
