This was one of the more disappointing hibachi experience we’ve had, it was getting close to closing time I assume (we arrived shortly after 7) was told it would be an hour wait, to our surprise it was not and we were seating probably within 30 mins, upon being seated our drinks took a good 15 minutes or so to arrive. Which didn’t really sour our experience too much, but when the chef came out he didn’t do any of the flare or fun things you expect at hibachi, he threw his spatulas in the air, lit his grill on fire and spun his egg, the end, that’s it, no throwing broccoli in our mouths, no sake, no flare, no fun! Then cleaned his grill and left. My husband ordered his filet medium well, I ordered mine medium and somehow they came off the exact same spot of the grill at the same time. Then my daughter and I went to use the bathroom which someone had just started cleaning, instead of pausing for a moment and letting the line of 4 women enter and use the facilities he continued to clean the restroom while we all stood there uncomfortably watching. Food was descent but the experience was very disappointing. We’ll probably wait awhile before we return. $150 for 3 people(one a small girl) to just sit and eat wasn’t...
Read moreI've been to a number of hibachi restaurants, but Ichiban remains my favorite. Prices are reasonable as long as you pay attention to the menu, as it is possible for your bill to add up. The food is prepared in proper hibachi style, as in, right in front of you, unlike some smaller hibachi joints you might find. You may have a wait, as they don't send the chef out until the table is sufficiently full. If you go during a slow hour and don't want to wait, they do have a bar with tv's for you to enjoy while you wait. My only criticism is that the meat doesn't get trimmed prior to grilling, so you might get some fatty pieces. A recommendation: if anyone in your party has allergies, it's extremely important to make that very clear before the chef comes out, as they'll be cooking for multiple parties and they do an efficient job, so your allergy request might be missed. But it still wouldn't hurt to remind them. Overall, Ichiban is a wonderful option if you're craving an upscale meal without celebrity steakhouse prices. 10/10...
Read moreI have visited about 10 times in the last 2 years. 7 times sat inside and 3 times ordered take out. Each time the experience got worse. They used to charge different price for take out versus the price of someone cooking the food infront of you. But the price is the same the last 2 times I had takeout and you get 1/2 the amount of food. Make sure you check your takeout order. The tag will be what you ordered but what is in the bag can be different. Seems like the one who answers the phone listens but whoever is doing the orders in the back is not reading the tags. And seems like the portion size when you eat inside is less as well. I get it. The price of everything is going up. But if I’m going to pay more I should get the same service if not better. The quality of the food and service is not consistent with the price they charge. I will not be eating here anymore. If you don’t have the time to check you takeout order be prepared for something...
