Cranford's Best Bagel & Deli — Restaurant in Cranford

I was referred here by my best friend. We live in Clark and my parents have tried so many places that they literally had given up and were just buying bagels to have them. They didn't taste like cinnamon raisin at all so I suggested to them to try Cranford Bagels. On Monday, we purchased a dozen bagels with French Toast, Blueberry, Cheddar Cheese, and Cinnamon Raisin. Also 2 bagel sticks and brought Mom back a blueberry bagel with Walnut Raisin cream cheese. We couldn't stop raving how tasty these bagels were. Well on Monday, we heated up a French Toast bagel for my mom. I got called out of the other room cause shockingly she found a small screw she had bit down on that was baked into the bagel. I called the store and asked for a Manager and I spoke with Frank. He was extremely apologetic and really was confused how this couldn't happened. He offered to give us 6 bagels on the house and we just had to come in and see him specifically. My dad went in to talk to him and in the half hour it took to hang up get ready and get to the store. Frank had already checked all his machines to make sure it didn't come from them. The only conclusion they could come up with is that it came from one of his distributors. Now usually I'd never return but the quality of their bagels, the customer service I received while purchasing the bagels, and finally dealing with Frank. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I came in on 10/9/2021. I placed 2 breakfast bagels through the phone and felt like my order wasn't placed correctly. Very poor communication to start off so I had to go inside and place it again. Once I got inside they hadn't even taken my order or my name that I gave on the phone. So had to wait an extra 15 minutes for both bagels. I strongly reiterated that for one of the bagels NOT to put CHEESE and OF COURSE there was cheese. The bagel was for my friend who is allergic to cheese. Not only did they put cheese on the bagel but also forgot to put egg. In this moment I had already left because I was running late to work. I gave them a call to express my frustration and asked if there was any way that I could get some type of credit for this sandwich. The owner was in the background yelling at the worker and telling her to hang up and to not worry about it. He also expressed that I must come in for anything to be done so I took a picture in order to prove their mistake. He continued being rude in the background and was trying to dismiss my problem. This is not only disrespectful but also unacceptable because if my friend had eaten the sandwich she could've wound up in the hospital. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS HORRIBLE...

Well based off of everybody else's reviews it seems that the possible problem with this place is getting orders wrong or perhaps leading one to believe what they're ordering is what they're going to get. My issue is that I ordered a panini and last time I checked when you get a panini usually there's grill marks on it from the press and it comes in a harder more crispy type of bread. I ordered a panini from here and it came in like a big fluffy Pita type of bread folded in half. And it's not that it tasted bad because it was okay but it's definitely not what I would think of when I picture a panini. The inside of the restaurant is very spacious and is very clean. But once again I probably should heed my own review since I went to a bagel shop and ordered a panini LOL. It's a deli but let's face it this is a bagel shop. So if you want a hot cup of coffee and a delicious Bagel then I have no doubt that this is the place to go.
