Good luck if you eat here. If anything is wrong and you complain, the owner will actually tell you nobody else complains and ok... He'll look into it, then hangs up. Well once again they BURNT the po' boy. I don't mean just burnt but I could smell it 5 ft from my guy who opened it and closed it up. it smelled like a burnt up with pile. He opened it back up and showed me. It's SOLID PITCH BLACK, flattened and dried out. It's completely INEDIBLE. And that was after he explicitly asked them to not burn it AGAIN. If you like your food overcooked, then maybe you'll enjoy food here. There's just too many times we've been given messed up food. Overcooked fries, under cooked fries- they do this a lot, their tzatziki sauce had a few larger chunks in it and very little flavor. Maybe they had a bad night when we went, but they seem to have a lot of bad nights then. We usually only go here because they're open later than Aj' and Mr. Waffles, that has all the same foods for the most part and More. Sad thing is Mr. Waffles is only open till 3pm 😭. Mr. Waffles is hands down the place to go in Joliet/Crest Hill. We even go before 3 and get extra soups or a meal for dinner, because they're soups are made from scratch not powder and all their food is so very, very good. Want a nice home cooked meal, instead of all frozen and fried liked Mickey's, goto Mr. Waffles at the corner of Prarie and Theodore in Crest Hill. Tell them Rebecca sent ya. 😉 We're regulars at Mr. Waffles...
Read moreI haven't been to Mickeys in years, sine I moved away from Joliet. But work brought me back there tonight, and I found myself hungry for a steak sandwich.
As I drove by the Hillcrest Shopping Center, I thought "Mickeys is the kind of place that would probably do a steak sandwich well." And it did not disappoint!
This Mickeys moved into an old Wendy's and it's at the front of a large shopping center with a Food 4 Less and a Harbor Freight Tools. It's your typical hot dog and gyro place, but it's known for having great baby back ribs. The thing is, Mickey's does a great job with all the food they cook. You can tell that they care about the food that they serve.
As for this ribeye steak sandwich, it's served on garlic bread, and the steak is cooked to a medium temperature, but has just the right amount of char. Seasoned to perfection and perfectly complemented with a fresh roll they use to make the garlic bread.
Next time you're in Crest Hill, try Mickey's ribeye steak sandwich, and I bet you'll be as...

I hope they didn't change meat suppliers .
