Stewby's Seafood Shanty — Restaurant in Crestview

Let me start by saying , the one star has nothing to do with the food. The food is great , which is why atleast twice a month me and my family come from Pensacola to Crestview to eat here. This review is simply directed at the customer service. For the first time I experienced terrible customer service here. I came through the drive thru and placed an order that was almost $90. I wanted 10 mins to order , because although I could hardly hear the drive thru girl because she clearly was tired of being there .. I came a hr to get food for my family and myself. The meal I ordered came with 2 sides so I requested for 1 to be onion rings. Drive thru teller said she would have the manager explain to me , why if the meal comes with to sides there was a $5 up charge to make one of the sides onion rings. Manager comes out (already rolling her eyes) so when I asked her why they were $5 and the side by itself is that price her response was “well this is a restaurant “ . So I snapped back and said “ I didn’t ask you that , I was asking why is the up charge and the ala carte charge the same. “ She snatched receipt and says I’m not selling you anything go somewhere else! Confused and now mad , I said so your not gonna sell me food after I came way out here for it and just ordered $90 worth. She told the kitchen to not make my food , and glared at me through the sliding door. I sat in my car still processing all of this , because if I knew asking the question of what I was spending my money on for someone who is selling the product would cause all of this , I would of saved my time coming so far out . The lady refused my service , called the police to have them ask me to leave and literally started talking sht when they got there. I am leaving this comment to say “Gena hunny , if you don’t like your job !! Quit !!! If you don’t love dealing with the public , stay home. & if you don’t want people wondering where and why they are spending their money then fund 5 families free meals!! Because what you did was uncalled for , pathetic and down right ridiculous!! You have no class , no home training and no work ethic if you get triggered that easily by a simple question. You are showing the crew that they do not have to respect the customers or answer questions. Do better baby , seriously. Needless to say , I went to the one in Ft Walton ( an additional 26 mins from home) they were great and we all laughed about what happened at the crestview location. I will be leaving them a review behind this one , because...

Food was below average. Certainly NOT worth the money they charge. I can get better seafood at the same price elsewhere. AND they want you to tip here when you order at the counter AND pick up at the counter, just like at McDonald's, Wendy's, and Burger King. They didn't even get my order right. I order fried catfish cheese grits and fries. When my husband brought my plate I had some kind of (looked like) stewed vegetables, green beans, and looked like chicken nuggets (don't know if they sell chicken) my husband took it back, when he came back the order was right but the "cheese grits" had 5 pieces of tiny, thinly shredded white and yellow cheese on it. I took one bite, asked my husband to taste it. I don't know what they made the grits from, but it wasn't from hominy corn. It tasted like wheat and rye 🤢. Our first time going and we will not be going back. We spent $5+.++ for 2 people for frozen, not fresh seafood. We did not have to wait for a table, but we did have to wait for 30 minutes for our ticket number to be called with only 3 customers ahead of us. The music was WAY too loud and everyone was talking loud to be heard...

We loved going to Stewby's in FWB, so we were elated to know that they were going to open one in Crestview. We've done take-out about 10 times since they opened. But today we decided to eat inside. The inside was super clean and the food reasonably priced for made to order seafood. Now the reason for only 4 stars.. Our meal was about $98 then we added $20 tip. We had ordered two of their grilled 12 piece shrimp dinner specials. As I was taking off the tails for my 5 year old, I happen to count how many shrimps she had. Turns out, she only had 10! I asked my son who also ordered the shrimp dinner, how many he had.....he too only had 10!. The food is great don't get me wrong, but better count your shrimp if you happen to order it.

UPDATE.... Update to the owners response. When I told the lady at the counter that we wanted to do two of the shrimp 12 piece dinner specials but would want it grilled and not fried, then SHE should have been forthcoming with that tid bit of information of "only 10 pieces allowed if getting grilled and 12 pieces if...
