Just got home from purchasing take out. What I had ordered was fajitas including steak, chicken, and shrimp. When I received the fajitas, there was barely any quantity to them and 3 shrimp for the whole fajita mix. I brought this up to the host who then checked with the back and said this was correct.

As you can see in the pictures, there was barely any amount of food in this. There is a side shot of the to-go container, and a top end picture. When you compare it to any other Mexican place, the quantity was abysmal. Now if the quality of the food was higher up, I would be able to let this slide, however it was not.

The meats/shrimp had no flavor. There tasted to be no seasoning on the steak, shrimp and chicken. If you wanted to make 3 fajitas, you would get 1 baby shrimp on each, a tiny amount of chicken and steak, a slice of onion and a slice of green pepper.

With this place being open for only 3 weeks, you would hope that the management and back would be open to fixing a situation like this. The manager didn't come out to talk nor did they do anything to fix the situation besides saying, "sorry, that is correct".

If you look at my food compared to the dine-in pictures, you can see that what I got was sub-par to the dine-in food. There is clearly many shrimp, larger pieces of steak, and larger pieces of chicken on the other reviews with the same meal.

With this being a new place with 2-3 Mexican restaurants in close proximity, they will go under if they charge $20 for this amount of food and the...

The average Mexican restaurant. I visited yesterday it was a group of 5. Two of us ordered more than one entree to try the menu options, this was our first time there and regardless to if we planned to take the food home or not the waitress seemed annoyed by our request she stated that it would be a lot a food, when really the plates are oversized. However it was not a lot of food, but it almost seemed as if trying the menu is not encouraged. The most disappointing part was that it was my birthday I had flowers, balloons and a cake. The staff only acknowledged one birthday at the time we were there, a group of them went to a different table to sing. They walked past our table which was right behind them. My sister told them it was my birthday and the staff member said Ok and walked away. The waitress had a responsibility I feel to acknowledge it if the staff at this restaurant provides a celebration to their birthday guests. However, when mentioning it the waitress said they only offer to those that ask, well we did, but she then rudely asks we’ll do you want ice cream. I declined. My group was beginning to leave we had already paid. I don’t know her name, but she’s short, blonde hair and dark eye brows. But you served a table with a large birthday ballon, it was rude to say anything else, but sorry. The food is way too average for poor service. There is way better Mexican food close by. I...

I recently visited Carreta's. It was located in Creve Couer off Olive Blvd, and upon arriving, we were greeted by the lively and colorful decor of the restaurant. The gigantic artwork throughout the restaurant was beautiful to look at while dining.

The menu had a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes, including tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and more.

We decided to start with the chips and salsa, which were freshly made and served hot. For our main course, I had street tacos, and my wife had enchiladas. Both dishes were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.

In addition to the delicious food, the service at Carreta's was also excellent. Our server was friendly and efficient, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. They also had a great selection of margaritas, and we enjoyed trying a few different flavors. Yum.

Overall, our experience at Carreta's was fantastic. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively and fun, and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic...

I moved from Overland to Creve Coeur 3 years ago and didn't realize how much I took for granted good Mexican restaurants until I moved here. I've been searching for a good place ever since I moved and was cautiously hopeful that this place would fit the bill. I was excited to walk in the door and saw a familiar face - a host who served me many times at my favorite Mexican restaurant on Kingsland in U City lovingly referred to as "The Chito" by my wife and kids. Great start. Turns out, the food, price and service were just as good as the Chito and the decor of the restaurant is very well done. I had the lunch Carnitas - Pictured- some of the best I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. Chips and salsa were complimentary and plentiful. Total with tax $9.03 - Awesome! The salsa was great and if I were to give one piece of feedback, the chips were slightly stale. I hope this place sticks around forever and after 3 years living in a Mexican food wasteland, I can finally say I think I've found my "home"!

I have been across multiple states, multiple countries, and multiple continents, but so far, this is the best Mexican restaurant. I know quality when I see it. I understand that the "lessers" do not know what quality is (no offense Google, the owners get less apology; any way, not even the health inspectors know what quality is in this county, but the people voted for it; that is so cute, and then they wonder when the quality comes). As a "cheat code", ask for "Mario" as your waiter and if you are worth your weight in salt, tip him well. Quality is worth every penny, but poor people do not understand that, so do tip well. I cannot help but I am of Germanic descent. Poverty sucks. Never tip less than 20%, unless you are poor. Google will not even allow the next comment, so use your imagination because poverty sucks! (Imagine the iconic poster-board from Jerry Mesmer) I eat there frequently. Do not be a Karen. Quality does and will deserve and receive better!
