Had dinner and a few concerns with the food, the pricing and the restaurant in general. I've dinner here many many times and often I am in during the NFL season a lot more. The 8oz bison burger- I was disappointed in. Very small, so not sure it was 8oz or not. The bun nowhere near a high quality bun. In fact one of the owners said they didn't plan accordingly a ran to a store and bough buns. They were not busy at all to run out of quality buns that weekend. If you were and put a grocery bun on it.. run it on special and pass along the discount. Poor ownership. Seemed very household Schnucks brand like actually.. bun wise for a $16.50 burger. People want a higher quality bun though. I selected sweet potato waffle fries and didn't realize they're an additional $2.50. So now the bison burger selection is up to $20.00 and it was undercooked. It's $20 because I added cheese an it's $1.00. I even asked, were you going to ask the temperature from me? The response was, its cooked at medium to medium well. The end result was very pink at medium rare. I didn't say anything, I ate it and the 10-13 waffles fries as well. Most were tiny crumbs like and this was disappointing too. Poor... very poor. I knew immediately I was not enjoying this burger, fries and experience. The bun should have been quality too, the fries at a $2.50 upcharge should come at plus 15 quantity- not slightly above 10. They're not the large ones. I'm not sure a $20 burger needs to be coming out in a plastic basket with sheet paper. The bathroom is outside, hanging bug traps in view with knats at the bar where I sat. The co owner said they're going thru remodeling it was a disappointing experience. The place reminds me of a dive bar / truckstop. Junk everywhere behind the bar. Dirty.. smells too. It's The Post, I am trying to tell myself. The atmosphere and esthetics have slowly gone done hill over the years. I'm not sure owners are interested in suggestions or even hear / read the email I sent. But one did with a $35 gift card. Keep itactually. Nachos lasttime were horrendous, tots are greased up. They get by because of the zip code they're in. Its trash.. food and all. I say this because, I've spent countless dollars and time in there giving them chance after chance to improve that location. Maplewood is a 1000's better. I was extremely disappointed this evening and I live 2 stop lights down with the notion, I don't think we'll be back again. And I've dinned here, drank here and watched games here countless times- countless. But tonight's visit- jarring and very disappointing. Won't be back. No reason to pay $20 bucks for a burger like that with lnats and bugs flying. Won't spend another dollar with you til you...
Read moreThis is a really fun bar for great food and plenty of tvs to watch just about anything. And they have a great happy hour! 2-6 and beers start at $1.50 and go up a dollar every hour. Plus select $7 apps that are all great. Over the years I have tried most of their menu and haven’t found one thing is didn’t like. First of all I love their cheesesteak sandwiches, they have several to pick from, and their seasoned fries goes great with it. Also their pizza is amazing, I personally recommend the honey crust, if you haven’t tried one, it’s great especially with some spicy toppings like jalapeños. The smash burger monday special is pretty solid too. I have done that a few times and it’s always been consistent and fresh. For the most part all of their appetizers are excellent, having had most of them and everyone on the happy hour. Something unique to here is the “post its” which are a nice one to share as an appetizer or great for a snack with happy hour beers.
Now the restaurant from the outside, it’s a lot bigger than it looks. Again tons of tvs and lots of places to sit, bar tops, tables and more. They even have outdoor seating but I covered when the weather isn’t so favorable. There is also a decently long bar with lots of drafts to choose from. There is always a specials board and well specials for each day. They also have video arcade games, golden tee, shuffle board, darts and bubble hockey. Great place for game days or just some fantastic bar food. Staff hangs out in the back often by the restroom so if it’s slow and you need something you can find help there.
Just an fyi they do keep it chilly in here, which I love it but wife not so much, so bring a hoodie if you...
Read moreCame in with a group, so I always try to take that into consideration. They had one other large group and a smattering of regular customers. A group of us and another table we didn't know, but met while there asked the bartender to change the screen for us to a game we were all interested in and he refused. Literally no one in our section was interested in the game on the big screen, but that did not deter him. So much for give the customers what they want. The first waitress was great, but must have gotten overwhelmed. I am assuming the other two waitresses got a little bent about having to help out and it showed in friendliness and attitude. Things went down hill quickly from here. Orders were mixed up, wrong or items forgotten. We received our appetizer just about half way through our meal. Eventually the checks came but no one was in a hurry to cash us out, so I took mine to the bar, This clearly offended the bartender and waitress behind the bar, Neither took my payment. The disgruntled waitress went to look for my waitress. As I was waiting another person in our group brought his check to the bar, where I am assuming the manager helped him, took his payment and finished the transaction before my waitress appeared. I left a 25% tip as this was the original nice/stressed waitress. I seriously doubt I will go back as a result, which sucks because food was good and menu was interesting. The buff chicken dip is worth a try if you go. Hopefully, you'll catch them on...
