I went to Potbelly on Friday around 7 pm with my husband and kids, and it was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. When we walked in, the first worker flat out told me, “I’ll take your order after I make four more sandwiches,” as if my business didn’t matter. Another worker looked irritated and overwhelmed, acting like customers were a burden instead of the reason they had a job.
When I asked if the rush was from DoorDash orders, the first guy snapped that it was only because they had a buy one, get one deal. Finally, when another employee came to take my order, he gave me literally two seconds to answer before rolling his eyes, sighing loudly, and acting like I was wasting his time. I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich with tomato and mayo, and he actually questioned me, saying, “So you don’t want avocado?” I told him yes, of course I wanted avocado—it’s part of the sandwich. He then rolled his eyes again, whispered something under his breath, and made it very clear he didn’t want to be there or serve us.
At that point, my husband, kids, and I walked out. The workers were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We work hard for our money and will not spend it at a place where the staff treats paying customers with such disrespect. Potbelly should be ashamed to have employees like that representing...
Read moreThe food was okay. The service was offensive. I was in the store earlier with my two daughters. We ordered and received our food, but our milkshake was forgotten. The pleasant employee who rang us up was gone. I stood at the counter for a long time without being acknowledged by the owner/manager, who was literally right in front of me. Finally, a younger employee helped me. She spoke with the owner, then she made the milkshake and brought it to me. She asked if I was going to pay for it. I explained, again, that I already had, and that the shake was forgotten. Then my daughter spilled a miniscule amount of water on the floor. It was no more than 1/4 of a cup. I cleaned it with napkins, but I heard a different employee complain that my daughter had "just spilled soda all over the floor." A different manager came over and joked with my daughters about spilling soda. I explained that it was just a little water and that I had already cleaned most of it. Then a grumpy employee came over with a mop and mopped the mostly dry floor. It was just weird and bad service all around. We definitely...
Read moreLiterally the best sandwich I've had in Saint Louis and I've lived here for 19 years. Staff is very friendly and the sandwiches are the bomb. I always get a big wreck and I am never disappointed. Also they're one dollar pickles are great if you're into that sort of thing. They offer bottled sodas and cups for the soda machine, and some really tasty shakes, malts, and smoothies. You can carry out or eat inside, and they even cater to large groups. I'm rarely there for lunch but they hire some great artists to play live shows I think between 11 and 1. It's very cool to come into such a homey restaurant and have live music in there with you. Usually, around lunch time the place is packed and the parking lot is very full and it can be hard to find a spot since it's near a Plaza and several Office Buildings. Potbelly's offers outdoor seating with about 10 tables. There is great Variety in the menu with even some vegetarian options. I enjoy both Potbelly's and Pickleman's but to me, Potbelly's stands out greatly compared to any other sandwich shop in the area. Thanks...
