Orzo Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Creve Coeur

I love the food here usually, but today the staff and food was off. First 3 of us ordered food, mine was chicken Gyro and the girl smothered it in sauce like a gravy. You couldn't even taste the chicken at all. 2nd order a steak Gyro and fries. Got the Gyro and had to ask 3 times for the fries and the 3rd time finally made them and when I asked if the fries were ready they said "Oh they're right there". They put them in a Styrofoam box on the counter and never said anything. Service was not good. They were out of tea and when I asked how long the girl says oh we are not making any soon. It was 4pm. Then I asked for a flavored water and she gave me Perrier sparkling water. They did not work as a team, every employee was under 20 yrs old. Teenagers running the place, or half way. I am a fan of this place, so hopefully it was just a bad day. We paid $58 + tip for 3 Gyros, fries and falafel. Not happybwith service today. I do suggest them cause I've been in when suer busy and service was great. We were the only ones in there at the time being...

What I got the Falafel warm bowl. I got the rice and quinoa with veggies and a much of other veggies and was able to add hummus. It was okay, nothing special. Overall decent, not sure impressive. I also got the greek fries, which was a big portion and it was good as well. I forgot to tell them to take the feta off it.. I thought the feta looked melted, I guess that is normal.

Environment In a plaza with the fountain view. There is seats inside and outside. The seating outside were really nice but when the wind blows towards the seating, the fountain water hits you.. ha.. not as great then...

Niceness of the staff I went when it was not busy as all so I was able to get all the attention I needed. It was a style where you went down the line and added all the things you needed to add. I wouldn't say that he was very attentive.. But I was able to get my meals and get out.

Every time we have introduced new people to this place they have been very happy with their food.

The food itself is always delicious and fresh even when ordered to go . The steak is always tender and flavorful and the chicken is delicious as well. The beef/lamb is always a good way to go if you are looking for a traditional gyro. The veggies are always fresh and their cooked veggies are always soo good.

The service is always quick and they are always accommodating to any requests we might have. On the rate occasion the service was slower than usual they have always show their gratitude towards us for waiting.

The outside seating area is a favorite for us during the summer and the inside is always clean and great to sit in when we don't sit outside.
