Edit: I found the reason for the discrepancy. It’s a $4.50 delivery charge that is added without telling you. They are owned by Uber. A small business is owned by Uber. When you are in Burleson, be sure to Air BnB a house owned by a corporation and be sure to try our local cuisine brought to you by Uber! Air and water will be charged to your bill later by Nestle. Have a great day! Or an awful one! We don’t care either way! Coming soon, Companions TM and Companions PM by Tinder! Rent some friends! Rent someone special! Please standby for an unskippable ad from companies that are advertising to your children using things that they shouldn’t see! I am absolutely devastated with the change in this restaurant. First, they have outsourced their phones to a call center somewhere in Asia. Second, they have outsourced their delivery drivers to Uber. They also ask you to tip up front. That’s the exact opposite of what a tip is meant for. They do not tell you these facts beforehand. Third, they apparently use Uber prices after quoting you over the phone. Lastly, once you clearly point out the issues with full proof, they just say “whoopsies!” Oh, and they have changed their recipes. Way worse. This is what is problematic with the service industry moving forward. It’s further and further detached. This is supposed to be a local Asian food restaurant, not a mess of corporate nonsense. Attached is a receipt and the transaction on my cashapp that I used to pay. I ordered 2 sesame chickens and 1 CFR. I have no proof of the conversation where the call center quoted me around $35 for that order. I was asked to tip up front, so I just said put $3 on there, and I will tip more in cash. An hour later, my food still hadn’t been delivered. I called to confirm that it was moving forward, and they said that it was on its way. Then, I got a call telling me that my phone had arrived. It wasn’t here. I called them again to let them know the issue, and they literally told me that I had the food. They said that there was a picture of a glass door. That’s when all the clues started pouring in. They sent out another driver with another order, but it arrived with only 1 sesame chicken and fried rice. You can clearly see that it says $21.10 on the receipt. Even if you added the $3 I told them to tip, then you would still be at $24.10. They charged my card $26.40. When I called to let them know how bad this whole transaction was, I was told oops, we can’t do anything about it. Don’t go here. This was as bad, if not worse than, Asian Cafe and Taste of Asia. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t just get bought out by that company that runs those places. Awful!

Food: goodish Service: quick and impersonal Establishment:dated, cold and un-inviting Food: the seasoning was wonderful, but the food was more oily than traditional Chinese food. The portion was small! Service: with plexiglass and drawers to transfer credit cards. It was quite offputting and many chairs flipped over the tables. Pushed more of a takeout desire from the owners part. Establishment: the place is very dated, and everything screams “get away from me”! The bathroom was not necessarily clean, extra materials were exposed. Suggestion: make sure the dining area is fully accessible to customers, put in closet in the restroom for extra materials, Serve food on a plate with a more generous portion, and please remove the plexiglass.

Really good food. I order takeout and delivery here quite often. Their food is fresh, flavorful and served quickly. The owner is very nice. If you order more than 30 bucks you get a free two liter of cola or crab rangoons. Their sauce is pretty bold and sticks to the food, yet is not runny. The meats are marinated well so do jot dry out. Thr seafood soup was pretty delicious. They use real jumbo shrimp and you get a lot fo what you pay. Great deal, good food, would highly recommend.

Please fully read to understand my one star rating. It is long-winded, but I wanted to explain the entire expierince from start to finish.

My wife and I just moved to Burlesonn, and within the first few days living here we got a flyer on our door for Chen's Wok. Great, we thought, now we have a Chinese food delivery place right around the corner. It was the night of the Dallas Cowboys game, 9/16, and we decided this would be a perfect night to give them a shot.

While ordering they asked if we wanted all white meat on our chicken entres, and that sounded like a great plan; little did we know, due to lack of communication, they charge an extra $2.00 per entre for white meat. This is not our issue, but we would of liked to of been made aware of this up-charge before deciding.

I prefer Lo Mein noodles with my meal, so I always order it that way, however, I've never been charged a $3.00 up-charge for them. Again, no big deal, as long as they actually bring the noodles. Instead they brought nothing, no noodles, no rice, no nothing.

We ordered our food, and were told it would be 30-45 minutes for delivery. This sounded nice due to the fact we have a 5 month old at home, and we don't like eating too late, or having visitors knocking on the door after bed time. After an hour and a half I called the store to check on the order, and they said it was right around the corner. I then asked if it was going to be cold, and was assured it had just been made, and the delivery driver was really busy due to the Cowboys game. Fine, I thought. The food showed up, we got it inside, and it was cold. Not ice cold, but cold enough to realize it was sitting on a counter, or riding in a car for at least an hour.

Side note: the crab ragoons were over cooked, or reheated because all the cheese melted out and it was just crust with nothing in it.

$36.00 plus a tip, for two entres, and crab ragoons seemed high, but with all the issues I knew I needed to make the call to the store. The manager on the phone, who said his name was Tim, seemed understanding. He said they were sorry, and our next meal was on the house. Although We were aggravated with the situation, we wanted to eat, and go to bed, so we took the bait.

Flash forward to tonight, 9/26, only 10 days later, we call to collect on the promised meal. I got bounced around by a few people, then ended up on the phone with the store manager. She said there's no person named Tim that works there, and there is no record of any "free meal" on file. I explained the situation to her, tried to give her my order number, and she was completely unhelpful, and disrespectful. I told her to not worry about it, I'll gladly write about our experience online, so here I am. This was completely unprofessional, disorganized, and disrespectful to me and my family. Our first experience with Chen Wok will absolutely be our last. Thank you...

Let me start off by saying that as an Asian American, I am PICKY when it comes to Chinese and Japanese food.

With that being known, let's begin.

I was in the mood to once again find a decent place for Chinese food. And it hasn't been easy in Burleson/Crowley.

But nevertheless, I had to strong of an urge and craving so the hunt once again was on!.

After digging through various reviews, I decided to storm the walls of Chen's Wok.

Apon entering the clean, well maintained halls of this fine establishment, I was happily greeted by my host with a smile.

After browsing the many options many of which made selection a challenge as all of it sounded so good I knew I had to make a choice and fast before my appetite and wallet bit off more than I can chew.

I thus settled on the Orange chicken and Beef lo mein. And also fell prey to my weakness and grabbed a 2 liter of coke.

I promptly paid the kind shopkeeper his fee in gold(debit)

I then sat down and proceeded to relax in a comfortable booth seat and browsed various digital means of turning my brains to mush.

There was also kind elder lady whom also greeted me with a smile from beyond the kitchen as she was preparing various food stuff.

Before I knew it, the shopkeeper returned with a neatly packaged brown bag that was pumping the aroma of my items and was quite warm.

I quickly returned home to dig in with hopeful ravenous hunger. Hopeful because, as I said, it has not been easy to find good Chinese food in this area.

And my oh my oh my was I to be pleasantly surprised!!!

We have to start off with the Orange chicken.

The aroma is dead on! The sauce is thick. And the chicken, oh my goodness, perfectly breaded and fried, and the flavor is perfect. The Orange flavor is also right on point with a subtle bit of spice involved, which completed the whole dish. By far, some of the best Orange chicken I've had here in texas, if not the entire West Coast! A clear winner 10 out of 10!

The beef Lo Mein is also a winner. Again, the beef was flavorful and soft. The noodles are perfectly done, and the proportions of vegetables to noodles are perfect! Again, another 10 out of 10!

The fried rice is my only miniscule complaint as I'd have preferred a bit more egg in it, but it's not enough of an issue to take points away from the experience.

It's a shame I found chens now and not sooner as I'm moving back to northern Colorado. But I'm glad I did!.

Chen's Wok is a place that I'll be trying to visit at least once more before I move just to have another flavourful meal before I leave the lone star...
