I had the pleasure of dining at Jameson's Charhouse in Crystal Lake, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The moment we walked in, we were welcomed by an incredibly warm and friendly atmosphere, and the staff truly made the evening special.
First and foremost, I want to give a huge shoutout to the bartenders, Winston and Tim. These two were on point all night, crafting some of the best cocktails we've had in a long time. We tried the Raspberry French Martini, Old Fashioned, and Classic Cosmo, and each one was perfectly made. Their attention to detail and friendly service set the tone for a memorable night.
Our server, Zach, was equally fantastic. He greeted us with a smile and made sure we felt right at home. He gave great recommendations and kept the service flowing smoothly throughout the evening. You can tell the staff at Jameson’s truly cares about making each guest feel special, and their service was top-notch.
Now, let’s talk about the food. We started with the Shrimp Cocktail, a special offered during Lent. The shrimp were huge, fresh, and paired perfectly with a homemade cocktail sauce that was just the right mix of tangy and savory. We also had the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which was amazing—extra cheesy and served with crispy, freshly made tortilla chips.
For the main course, we all ordered the Filet, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. The meal started with some incredible soup—two of us had the Split Pea, which was out of this world, and one had the Baked French Onion Soup, which was rich and cheesy. The housemade ranch dressing on our salads was also a standout. And let’s not forget the perfectly sautéed broccoli and baked potatoes that came with the steak—everything was just top-tier.
We ended the night with Espresso Martinis, and I highly recommend getting them made with Mr. Black instead of Kahlua for an extra smooth coffee kick.
All in all, I can’t say enough about the wonderful staff at Jameson’s Charhouse. From the bartenders to the servers, everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional dining experience. I’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, amazing drinks, and...
Read moreI just left Jameson's in Arlington Heights after having lunch with 24 other ladies. I generally feel the food and service are excellent, but today was a very different experience. The waiters were not courteous at all. They never smiled or said please or thank you. We waited quite a while for our food, which was just ok. One friend ordered the French onion soup, which she said had little flavor. Another friend ordered salmon, which was dry. I ordered the chopped salad which was just as expensive as other meals but did not come with soup. That was a let-down. But now - for the reason I am only giving it 2 stars: I had a disagreement with the owner/manager when it came to accepting a new gift receipt for $40 and a $2.73 balance receipt from another time when my gift card exceeded my bill. The manager was extremely belligerent and refused to honor either of my receipts or believe me. He made me feel as though I was trying to pull a fast one. He said I was being disrespectful to him but He was very disrespectful to me, the customer. Our "conversation" became heated, and we both raised our voices, though he failed to admit that he was behaving badly. When I said I would not be coming back to the restaurant, he said "That's Ok. I don't care." When I told him I no longer wanted to discuss the matter and tore up the $2.73 receipt, he further insulted me. Other ladies at the table were very upset with his behavior/attitude as well. A few of us said we would not return to Jameson's. Apparently, they don't care anyway. There are plenty of other fine restaurants in the area where patrons are treated in a respectful and friendly manner and whose business is appreciated. The only person who was friendly and professional was the one waitress who served some of the tables. But really - Shame on this owner who thinks he can talk down to a customer and treat them in such a manner as to ruin the entire lunch experience. So for $2.73 was it really worth it to lose me or others as a customer...
Read moreWell I took the love of my life out to dinner in celebration of her birthday. We decided to go to Jameson's as we have been there in the past and really enjoyed it. However, tonight was a different story. Our server was Molly and we were highly disappointed.
It started with a "bus boy" who just so happened to be latino. He asked if we all wanted water? As he left to get us our glasses of water, Molly, the server approached rolling her eyes, asking us "What is he getting for you?" We told her that he was asking if we wanted water. Molly proceeded to tells us that he doesn't speak english brings random things to the tables. But he didn't, he promptly brought us water.
Then while ordering our food my honey order a Cajun seasoned Ahi Tuna. Molly rudely asks how do you want it cooked? Not catching on, my honey say Cajun, Molly quickly responded with NO, How do you want it cooked? Realizing what she meant I said Medium.
The table next to us was her table as well. It was a party of four. We noticed she was over attentive to them and at one point as she was bringing us the house mini loaf of bread, she tosses it onto our table as she walks past us and begins to address the other table. Keep in mind, its Monday night and it was not busy. So I saw no need to toss bread onto a table.
By this time we had empty glasses of iced tea. I mentioned to my honey that service was very poor and she agreed. I think Molly overheard and you could see her attitude change. She had finally realized we are latino and that we had been speaking to the bus boy in Spanish.
We are extremely disappointed that Molly has this way of thinking, as if she is better or superior to others. At least thats how we took it.
I will most likely return (not for a long time) but I will assure you Molly will not be my server. By the way, she received the tip she deserved.
I will say this the cooks who prepared our meal were on point and did a great job. As for the bus boy he was attentive and polite. I wish I could say the...
