Updated: Thrilled that they are closer to me now! Everything else below still stands! I was bopping around the area and had heard decent things about this spot, so I swung by for a pickup because, hey, why not. I grabbed a Chick Magnet, a bunch of sides, and some Mister Miyagi lemonade for kicks. I had a good 20 minutes drive home after pickup, so I didn't have the highest hopes for the integrity of everything holding up, but I shrugged off the potential disaster because I was hungry.
First off, my fears were unfounded. Everything miraculously remained warm. More importantly, the chicken. Oh, the chicken. The skin was crackle perfection, to a degree that I would think impossible if it were served to me in person, let alone driven across town. I dug into the breast first (since that's usually the piece that's most likely to dry itself out if I have to reheat it), and it was so juicy that I did an actual doubletake to make sure I was eating white meat. As you would expect, the legs and thighs held up their part of the deal remarkably as well. I ate it all way faster than anyone has a right to.
The chicken was the star of the show, but the sides were delightful little accompaniments. The mashed taters, mac & cheese, and fries all scratched my undying starchy itch. However, the biscuits with honey miso butter were especially transcendent, making me close my blinds so I could safely lick the leftover butter from its container. Last but not least, the Miyagi lemonade was a damn steal. 32oz! And refreshingly balanced to wash everything down.
Does LA really need another fried chicken place? After trying Go Go Bird, I can say it definitely did. But no others should even try. So if you're a chef and have a chicken pop-up concept bouncing around your head, just give up, go get some of this chicken, and cry knowing that you would not have made it this...

Read moreit's genuinely worrying that people consider this to be good fried chicken. it felt like a practical joke when i went from reading people's positive impressions to eating food that could be used to replace the prison system.
literally feed people this after they have committed crimes and watch them go straight and on the righteous path.
The fries are so saturated and overcooked that there is no actual potato left. it is just a flavorless matrix of grease and crunch.
The fried chicken was also overcooked.carcinogens aside, it was dark enough that you think there is no way there is any juice left in the chicken...not surprisingly the chicken was mega dry and not well seasoned.
the biscuit everyone raved about was like a prank biscuit. you bite into it and it turns to dust.
3 tenders and fries were 25$ and honestly it was so bad that even if the returned my money x 10 , I wouldn't consume anything from here again.
the staff was moderately nice, but the product was appalling.
I let some random people eating noodles try my chicken and fries after they commented on how good it looked...they hated it and said how lucky they felt to have...
