This gyro was life-changing. I found myself in the vicinity after a disappointing day of trying to patch a tire which led me across West LA to a tire shop down the street. I was hangry and disillusioned with the state of my day, which quickly went to waste quickly in the midst of my complications. This gyro sandwich is the redeeming factor of the past four hours of my existence. When I entered, I was confused by the lack of prices, menus, and... people. There was an older woman who met me with a warm smile and welcomed me in as if I were her own grandson. She quickly took my order, which left me gobsmacked when I saw that this, unbeforeseen-at-that-moment mystery gyro, would only cost a mere 11 dollars, including tax and a 20% tip. The woman quickly got to work and I witnessed her prepare my gyro with care and intention, shaving it carefully off the spit and garnishing it with a superb amount of toppings and delectable sauce. The gyro was fresh, tender, and satisfied my hangriness and impatience with ease. This is the definition of comfort food. The gyro was served on a random cutesy plate which completed the developing hole-in-the-wall restaurant discovery saga for me. I inhaled the sandwich so quickly it must have startled the woman. On the way out I thanked her for my meal, dropped my dishes off, and she told me: "have a wonderful night, until next time ." This spot epitomizes small business America in a way which no Greek chain (looking at you Daphne's and Luna Grill) will ever emulate. Bravo and I will...
Read moreThis was one of the most disappointing meals I have ever purchased.
I wanted to love this place. Mediterranean food is one my favorites and I love trying new spots. I ordered the chicken kebob plate and falafel ala carte Total paid with tip was 27.24.
The falafel were two pieces sliced into five for $5.99. While it was tasty and not too greasy the fact that I paid nearly 6.00 for two pieces of falafel feels wrong.
There was no kebob. This was five pieces of thin chicken breast with absolutely no seasoning on it. It was...shocking. I am used to my kebobs being flavorful, juicy and succulent. This has NONE of that. There were exactly three pieces of vegetables for the meal. One small piece of green bell pepper, onion and tomato. On a huge bed barely seasoned rice Included was 1 banana pepper, a mint sauce, tahini and hummus. The only one out of the three that had flavor was the mint sauce.
This is just bad. I have to say I have serious doubts about the validity of some of these reviews. What I received was awful. The owner and his wife seem so kind but they either need to revamp their recipes or hire a cook.

Read moreCan’t recommend it high enough. I’m super picky when it comes to my standard order and they nailed it amazingly and for SO CHEAP. Like, 3.50 for a double shot latte. Plus unlike Starbucks I’m guessing they don’t directly support slavery. (Look up working conditions in Starbucks plantations) I digress, cool pleasant people, comics on the counter so you have something to look at. Also, it’s not super bright and it’s got a cozy style, unorganized books on a shelf, it feels comfortable. Outside seating. Honestly I/we very rarely go out of my/our way to comment on how good somewhere is but this place is amazing. I wish I lived closer.
New favorite cafe. Support it because it’s such a GD win win. I sound like I’m shilling, I swear they have no idea who I even am, just got my coffee and...
