It wasn't that busy, and there were 3-4 servers or bartenders (i couldn't tell if the one actually worked there, she kept stuffing her face with food and drinks and then would be behind the bar talking to the bartender, but it didn't seem like she interacted with any customers). The waitress didn't wait long to come to our table but didn't tell us her name or welcome asked, just asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. We got our drinks and ordered our food (3 slices for him, burger for me). My burger came out first. I ordered medium rare with fries and ranch. She did not bring the ranch. She came back and slammed it on the end of the table and kept walking. A couple bites into my burger and I realized it was rare, so rare that the burger was cold and I wasn't even to the middle, 1/2 inch from the edge was bloody and red with a small sear on top and bottom. After a few minutes two ladies came over with my husband's pizza slices and I told the waitress about my burger and she took it back. After a bit she brought it back out and it was fine. WE waited about half an hour until we got tired of waiting to flag her down for the check. I know sometimes food isn't always perfect and mistakes get made, but service is able to be perfected and should always be a pleasant experience. Ours was not.

I recently dined at Uncle Jack's Pizzeria & Pub, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff was incredibly attentive and made me feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food – the pizza here is out of this world! The crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. It's evident that they use high-quality ingredients. They also have a great variety of pizzas to choose from, so there's something for everyone. The pub side of Uncle Jack's is equally impressive. They have a fantastic selection of beverages, including some unique cocktails and local craft beers. It's the perfect place to unwind with friends after a long day. I can't forget to mention the fantastic service – our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, helping us make the perfect choices. Uncle Jack's Pizzeria & Pub has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a welcoming environment. I'll definitely be back for more soon!

On Jun 20, 2024 . . . was in the area; remembering the great calzone & pizza from 3 years prior, stopped by at 130p; the place was dark. All the chairs were on top of the tables. Knocked on the front & back doors; phoned & no answer. So, no pizza for us. There was a sign in the window soliciting help wanted. The hours were posted on the door "Open Daily 11a-2am." (photo added) Hope that this was just an off day and not a forever closed day. We'll stop by again on our next trip thru the area. 3 yrs ago review (Sep 2021) Stopped in while cycling D.C. to Pittsburg. Excellent calazone. The restaurant is in a historical area of Cumberland and more along the lines of a neighborhood pub. It was so delicious we returned on our ride back thru Cumberland. This stop was on a Sunday with football on all the tvs; the place was packed. Still excellent calazone.

It's sad to even put one star, if I could put zero I would. This past Saturday July 20th, myself and 7 other of my Military friends came in to enjoy some food and drinks as we do any weekend we are in town. On a normal weekend, we may have to wait a little but someone usually comes up to us and tells us in advanced. This time around was THE WORST experience I've EVER had there. First of all, as soon as we sat down, NO ONE came up to us at all, even just to apologize that they couldn't get to us just yet. We waited and waited and waited..... also keep in mind that when we got there, we were WELL within the time from of ordering off the regular menu and not what they call the late night menu. We had to go up to someone 3 times!!! Just to get someone to our table. No drinks yet, no food......The table was also still full of dishes from the previous customers and probably would've stayed there if we didn't move them ourselves. We were finally 40 minutes in still waiting for service when the bartender started walking up to us and was stopped by the one waitress. She started talking to her and you could tell by the way the waitress looked at us that it was about us. All we wanted was food and drinks. The bartender finally came up to us, tried to explain to us why the wait was so long, yet they also chose to serve the table in front of us before us, when they showed up at least 20-30mins after we did. She was rude about it and then asked if we wanted to order anything it would have to be from the "late night menu" when we should've already been eating our food from the main menu. We showed up to get a full meal. Then once she finally came to get our drink orders, she explained that she could not get our drinks/food at the same time. Due to the high volume of people at the bar ordering drinks. She didn't want to put in both orders and then get stopped at the bar and our food get cold. Yet.....all the tables in the front of the place were practically empty. We have been coming to this place for years. We always tip decently and sometimes overly decent. Given the convenience it is for us it is a highly sought out go to. The rude, unattentiveness, no care at all, and basically go &^ yourself attitude we received that night. All of us got up, walked out and took our business to Buffalo Wild Wings at almost 11pm where we were served with kindness the second we walked into the doors. We got our food and drinks, had a wonderful time and made sure to give a highly decent tip that was well deserved. Will NOT be recommending Uncle Jack's Pizzeria to anyone unless things change...

I want to rate them higher b/c this is one of the few establishments that still serve slices of pizza. The first slice I had from here was about a 7.5 pretty good and worth a revisit. I come back and order two and this time it sucks, it's like school lunch pizza. Thick and chewy crust thick plastic cheese and weak sauce. I'm horrified and stay away for months. I love pizza though, so one day I'm in the neighborhood and I give em another shot and order one slice. Amazing pizza thin crispy crust perfect ratio of cheese and sauce with thin stringy hot cheese pulling away from each bite, absolute pizza bliss. I make one more visit soon after and order two slices and we slide all the way back to school pizza again. Inconsistent product and now I'm unsure if I want to try again. I'll forever be chasing the perfect slice and I get traumatized into not liking pizza. Service always sucks at the bar in the afternoon when ordering pizza. She's so disinterested. I mean I get it, no drink potentially means no tip, but it's too early to be drinking and I tip based on service not what I ordered. I haven't tipped b/c she acts like it's a bother to have someone order slices. I say try them twice and then one more time to get a good average. One of those times it'll be great. Oh if you can help it order from the front desk by the door. They are nicer even if it's a to go order. Oh and last thing. On the occasion that I ordered two slices I ate them on the back patio. They have about four or five TVs out there. Tell me why with three other TV's playing golf and one showing combat sports, the one I'm watching, the guy comes a long and changes the one I'm watching to golf. I smh and move to another table showing gymnastics, why does the guy then turn that one to golf too? No one else is out there. Boonsboro has way better pizza. Keep driving East, it...

Only leaving one star because I had to to post the review. My daughter requested wings and pizza from Uncle Jacks for dinner but we wanted to eat at our house, so i called to place an order this is the way the horrible experience played out:

UJ waitress: Uncles Jacks Me: I'd like to place an order for pick up. UJW: You do know this is Uncle Jacks right? Me: Yes, I'd like to order pizza and wings for pick up please. I can do that right? UJW: (A huge sigh ) Yes. and then place me on hold. For 10min. Not once checking back in to say i'm sorry we are busy i'll be right with you or can i take your order but it will be about an hour to pick it up, NADA.

Me: (called immediately back and got the same waitress) Is the owner available? UJW: The owner will not be here until tomorrow, click.

WOW! I guess they don't really care about business. I've shared this story every chance I get. Want a happy waitress, don't go to Uncle Jacks, and definitely do not try to order for pick up because you know a restaurant doesn't have time to serve you food, even when you are taking your time to go pick it up.

Also, I discussed this with my fellow employees where I work and they said it sounded like the same waitress they get when they go there. They don't get waited on as they should and its 10-15 getting a refill on drinks after asking, and she makes them feel horrible that they are there eating like they are bothering her day by being there, so in return their meal isn't relaxing.

So the consensus of about 15 people and myself is a one star rating is appropriate for the wait staff and customer service but for the food when you get it, is 5.

Too bad you can't get 5 star customer service with the great food! The place would see at least 16 more...
