It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but after our experience at The Crabby Pig, I feel compelled to share our disappointment. My husband and I are big seafood lovers, so we were excited to try this place. Unfortunately, our visit was far from satisfactory.

First, the service was lacking. We arrived and were informed that there was a wait for indoor seating, which we were fine with. We opted to sit outside to avoid the wait, but even then, our experience went downhill. Despite being one of the first parties to sit outside, we waited 30 minutes before anyone even brought us menus or took our drink order. Meanwhile, two other larger parties who arrived after us were promptly served, received their appetizers, and were well on their way through their meals before we were even acknowledged. Sitting outside in the heat with our four-year-old, this was incredibly frustrating.

When our food finally arrived, we were hoping it would be worth the wait, but it was anything but. My husband ordered the Captain’s Platter, which included a crabcake, scallops, cod, broccoli, and a potato. Unfortunately, none of the seafood was even remotely enjoyable. The crabcake was bland and mushy, the scallops and cod tasted off as if they were not fresh, and the overall quality was comparable to gas station seafood, which is shocking for a place specializing in seafood.

I ordered a pound of crab legs, expecting a delicious meal, but they arrived cold, and the portion felt much smaller than what I paid for. The quality was so poor that I couldn’t help but think I would have had a better experience at Red Lobster.

We spent over $100 on this meal and were thoroughly disappointed. As avid seafood lovers, we had much higher expectations and, sadly, The Crabby Pig did not deliver. We will not...

My family and I recently dined at the Crabby Pig in Cumberland Maryland. The restaurant is located in beautiful downtown Cumberland, and has an ideal location! It is located right near the railroad and the canal. It has abundant outdoor seating. We were hoping to sit outside but it was raining over the weekend. The inside of the restaurant was spacious and accommodating. We ordered a variety of things. I ordered the crab soup which was very good. There was a fair amount of real crab meat in it. It had a good flavor and was very hearty. My children ordered the shrimp and grilled cheese. They thought everything was delicious. My wife ordered the chicken Chesapeake and said it was very good also. I ordered a captain's platter which included two sides which consisted of a baked potato and baked beans. The entrees included broiled fish, scallops, shrimp, and a crab cake. The shrimp was a bit skimpy and the crab cake did not have a very good flavor to it. For being a broiled crab cake it had zero crust. It was extremely mushy and almost sour/bitter.

The restaurant was not particularly busy the day we were there but the staff was not involved at our table. We went long periods of times without getting refills. While they were far from rude they were also very disconnected from our table. The only other word of caution is the price. It is a bit steep for the amount of food you get. The price did not balance out with the quantity nor quality. Would most definitely try this place again in the...

I would rate 0 if possible. Absolutely the worse food experience I had in Cumberland. It wasn't the prices that bothered me but the quality of food for the price that bothered me. First the beer. They were out of every beer I wanted so I settled and was served hot beer off tap. So I sent it back and she came back out and said the beer was too foamy to serve so just ordered a bottle. I ordered jambalaya. No flavor and the meat was tuff. I also order the BBQ platter. Pulled pork sandwich had good flavor but wasn't fresh. The ribs bbq sauce was good but meat was cold, dry, and tuff. I'm from the south and we don't play with bbq. The coleslaw was good. We ordered oysters for an appetizer we received no utensils to eat them and no sauce no lemon. And on to my wife's overpriced soft shell grab sandwich. Literally nothing special about this sandwich. Literally a friend soft shell crab between bun. No seasoning no condiments no toppings. And at that it also wasn't fresh. Keep in mind we just left so we were there at noon. Then my nephew ordered the hotdogs kids meal. He didn't even like the hotdogs and this kid is not picky. On to the service. It was lame. Women only came to our table to bring food and drinks, and take our order. The restaurant was not busy. So why the poor service and food. Will never be back and will not recommend to anyone and in fact discourage anyone from coming to this restaurant. I'm very...

I travel a lot and this is my second time in this town and just like the first visit the respect and kindness for people is just NOT A THING FOR THEM ! First thing is the attitude of the waitress that sat my family. She came off very aggressive and rude . Her demeanor towards us was very unprofessional and unpleasant. We continued the visit to see if the experience would get any better and it most definitely didn’t get any better ! We ordered the Salmon platter with a baked potato and broccoli. The salmon was over cooked burnt on the bottom and the broccoli came out cold. The baked potato was the best thing on the plate ! We also ordered the NON- REFUNDABLE (First Red Flag To Not Buy) Soft Shell Platter with Cold Broccoli and Rice . The Soft Shell taste like it was sitting in water for weeks , it taste just like fried nasty water ! The waitress took our broccoli on small plates heated it up and brought it back to us! FRESH HOT BROCCOLI SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROVIDED !!! The waitress did take the Soft Shell back to the kitchen and offered something else ! The kids shrimp and fries is good ! We tried the crabby burger which was actually okay but it definitely could have used some type of something on the sandwich besides a bun , burger , & crabby mixture .. i.e mayo. lettuce, tomato or something so it wouldn’t be so dry! Overall I wouldn’t recommend but with so few choices in the town I see why people tolerate it !!

Stopped In for lunch on the way to rocky gap casino. Parking can be a challenge if you're not familiar as we were. We let Google guide us in and were able to find parking quite easily on a Wednesday at 1:30 pm. Atmosphere was relaxed with a mixture of walkers and bicyclists, since this restaurant is feet off of the cumberland bike trail. lunch did not disappoint. My wife and I tried the crab dip, which is a must, chunks of crab with garlic toast pieces. I had the crab soup, which was also good, but I thought could have been a little bit thicker , but was very flavorful with chunks of crab . We split a crab sandwich, broiled, which had loads of crab with little filler , and a pulled pork sandwich to try some barbecue that this place is also known for. We found service excellent and even had an afternoon cocktail to begin our upcoming casino adventure. We spent some time afterward soaking up the relaxing bike trail experience as well. Weekends maybe just the opposite due to the limited parking and all the recreational activities that this area offers. Definitely worth an off hours/day try! We will be back again soon.
