Wow.... so the lazy dog is amazing! Not only do they have meat options but they have vegan options, vegetarian options, and pescatarian/seafood options. They have very nice friendly staff and a great HH. This place is like my go-to for late night food and HH because they have an afternoon and early evening HH and a reverse one in the late evening. They have delicious appetizers, salads, desserts, red wines, and entrees. Why is this place so amazing? They have such an extensive menu and everything is soooo good. Veggie Burger: So today I was so impressed I had the black bean bbq burger and it legit tasted like meat, it was smokey and delicious and had fried onion strings. Vegetarian friends, it’s phenomenal and I highly recommend. Appetizers: cheese curds, sweet potato tots, crunchy fried wings and chicken lettuce wraps are good. I am obsessed with the cheese curds bc one, anything fried is delicious and two, cheese is just addicting and you just stop eating them. For HH they do only do Buffalo wings- they’re decent but not as good as they crunchy ones that are not on HH. However, the lazy dog has delicious bleu cheese and for someone who hates it and Is a ranch lover- it’s pretty bomb! I promise you will convert.
Dessert: OMG the butter cake!!! Get this and they don’t skim on the ice cream. Legit taste like a sugar cookie w strawberry purée and vanilla bean ice cream. The brownie is okay but good because they heat it and again- the ice cream is delicious. The pineapple upside down cake is fiiiire! Taste like a sugar cookie too and they put so much ice cream on top as well. Why is everything here like 5 star quality?? It’s bomb
ENREEE: The seared ahi tuna meal is delicious but I subbed the cauliflower mash for regular mash because one I don’t like cauliflower and two, it had a weird taste to me the first time around I had it. My boyfriend who dislikes seafood actually ate it and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s has such a subtle yet flavorful flavor and almost tastes like chicken. All the veggies and sauce inside complements the whole dish. Lazy dog, keep doing what you’re doing. You can continue to have all my money and my quality time. The service and food continues to...
Read moreOverall the food was solid, well executed. We came around 5:45 on Sunday, not very busy. Service was great, staffed checked in on us regularly. We ordered the Crispy Devil Eggs as an appetizer and the Ribs + Umami Fries and Pot Roast Beef Hot Sandwich with a sesame ginger mixed green salad (+$5.50) as our entrées.
Crispy Devil Eggs (4/5) The egg whites were lightly battered and fried, giving them a delicate crunch. They were filled with a creamy, flavorful egg yolk mixture. It also came with a salad that was not listed on the menu. The salad dressing was very flavorful. I liked it more than my salad with sesame ginger sauce.
Ribs + Umami Fries: Sweet and Spicy Korean Gochugaru (4/5)
The ribs were exceptionally tender and fell right off the bone. However, the sauce was more sweet with no spicy. It was a bit of a let down was I was hoping for a bit of heat. (3/5)
The umami fries is really good! The texture was amazing, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fries were very savory, they weren't kidding when they named it "Umami Fries". It was also lightly topped with a sauce, but I liked the fries more on its own. (5/5)
It also came with a Peanut Sesame Coleslaw, which was lightly dressed, not super wet which I liked. Tho, I wish the coleslaw was served separately or in bowl, as it made some of the fries soggy. (3.5/5)
Hot sandwich: Pot roast beef dip + sesame ginger mixed green salad
The beef was lean, very moist, good beef flavor, good amount of salt. The dip was great, light, not overly fatty, yet packed with flavor. Horseradish was a nice touch to the sandwich. The bread seems like it was toast without butter. If it was toasted with butter or garlic butter the dish would be elevated to the next level. But if you like that beef flavor, this is a solid beef sandwich! (3.5/5)
I also added the sesame ginger salad for an additional $5. The vinaigrette had a pleasant tang, but the sesame flavor was quite subtle and could have been...
Read moreWe walked into this restaurant at 10.50 Sunday night. (They close at 11) When the waitress in there looked up to see us walking in you could tell she was slightly sad about it but she immediately put on a huge smile on her face and welcomed us in and was going to sit us down to eat until we told her we were just picking up our togo order that we ordered at 10. She let out a slight sigh of relief despite still smiling and went to go retrieve our meal.
A young server brought us our food and check and even went and got a drinks that we asked for last min to go bc we forgot to order some. We had just driven 3hrs and were tired from that. He was kind and polite. I wish I could remember his name.
While we were walking out there was a table of 20 who must have gotten there a few minutes before we did who was just getting their food. That must have been why she was slightly sad we walked in so late. The poor things had to stay way after their shift for that table but yet they were kind and polite and still served them.
Now talking about the food. I got the spicy chicken sandwich...it was phenomenal. They gave me honey for my sweet potato fries that I ordered and I drizzled a little of that on it. Reminded me of chicken and waffles lol. They chicken was perfectly crisp and crunchy while maintaining that juicy inside.
My husband bought the bison burger and I wish I could have tried it it looked delicious( he did offer but he was enjoying it so much I declined) lol. Normally my husband only eats half a burger and some of his fries anytime we go out for a meal, but this time he ate the whole burger and left maybe 3 fries in the box. Whomever was the chef that night I commend you on still cooking an impeccable quality of food despite it being so late and the end of a very long day.
We will definitely be back again, but hopefully the next time we can sit down and enjoy...
