Let me summarize this place for you with a few words - amazing in terms of flavor but EXTREMELY expensive for what it is. I would call it a scam but the food is just that good.
I had never tried authentic Indian food and I really, really wanted to have some because 1.) I’ve tried to recreate Indian recipes at home and it’s not as good and 2.) I am going up north for the holidays.
I was supposed to go to the Kendall location with a friend that lives further north but he got sick and I went to this location, which is close to me (I live in Homestead).
I ordered 2 samosas, butter chicken (which comes with rice), dessert (which I believe is called rasmalai), and garlic naan - all for $44. CRAZY!
They said this would be enough for two people. My mom and I were disappointed to find out this just wasn’t true.
The food is absolutely incredible - really, really flavorful. I have no complaints there. The samosas were amazing and for the price, they were the only item that was worth it. You can NOT miss out on the rasmalai if you have a sweet tooth like me! The naan is also a MUST, I recommend the garlic naan.
However, the portions for the price are RIDICULOUS. Almost $20 for 7 tiny chunks of chicken swimming in sauce is a complete SCAM. If the rice is what bumps the price up, that’s even more ridiculous because they give you a tiny aluminum container holding maybe 2 cups of jasmine rice. I’m conflicted because the food is amazing but I eat a lot and this barely filled me.
If you’re a broke college student like me or you’re tight on money, try this once or treat yourself to it once a month. And if you’re a big eater like me, be ready to spend at least $70 for two people. It’s a great experience in terms of taste but an utter scam if we’re talking about price. If the food was bad, I would’ve given this 1 star. I’m not sure if all Indian places are like this but if the portions were bigger, this would be an easy 10...
Read moreThis was our first time trying and definitely not our last. At first, my husband and I were a little hesitant because we rarely like trying new places to then end up disappointed. However this wasn’t the case at all and I have no regrets whatsoever. The gentleman located at the front was very personable, nice and knowledgeable. We ordered a quite few things including the samosas, vegetarian pakora, butter chicken, shrimp biryani, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and last but not least a mango lassi. Everything was fresh, tasteful and hot, exceeded my expectations honestly. The butter chicken was tender and heavenly. I’m a picky customer and usually hard to please, not this time… hands down EVERYTHING was AMAZING is all I have to say! After eating I decided to call back the restaurant and let them know how happy I was with my order, which I have never done. I’m usually calling back a restaurant to complain about missing items or poorly prepared meals. I wish I would’ve taken pictures to show everyone what we got, but it was so good that we finished everything before we had a chance to do so. Highly recommended and so happy I...
Read moreI truly really hate to do this but it has to be know. Firstly, kinda expensive. $63 dollars for what we got was a robbery I feel. I often eat at Indian restaurants because it's my favorite cuisine. I've never been to this restaurant but I didn't feel like driving a bit further so I settled. Now, I will say the food was ready within the 25 minutes it took me to get there. However I hated every last thing I received except the naan. Everything was super sweet like sugar or honey was added? Never have I ever experienced that before at any of the MANY Indian restaurants I've been to. TO TOP IT OFF I FOUND HAIR IN MY FOOD. I WAS LIVID!!!! 63 DOLLARS LITERALLY IN THE TRASH. I really hate that I reacted so quickly or I would have taken a picture but I threw it away immediately. And the said part is that it was my friends first time trying the cuisine and she hated it. I have been trying to get her to try Indian food for years. The mango Lassi was a tad bit below average. I'm super disappointed.
