I stopped here about a couple of weeks ago for some of those juicy, flavorful, piping hot, and delicious tenders and was met with MAD DISAPPOINTMENT! Upon arrival, I decided to use their drive-thru since I was in a hurry and didn't want to waste time parking my vehicle and getting out. Placing my order was quick, simple, and easy. However, as I proceeded to the drive-thru window, there was a vehicle already waiting for their order. I believe I may have waited at least a good 10 to 15 minutes for that customer to get their order. After they finally received their order, I was happy because I was up next. Yay! Well, I got excited only to play the waiting game a little longer for four pieces of chicken tenders. I did not order any sides or bread or drinks, just four chicken tenders, A-LA-CARTE. The worker did not approach the window immediately to take my payment, so I continued to wait even longer. After about five minutes, he came to the window and barked out my total, in which I can't remember how much it was. Of course I responded to him by saying, "Hello and how are you today", which is something he should have done. He spoke back, I gave him my debit card, he took my payment, returned my card, and said, "Give us a second." and then he shut the window. I was left sitting there thinking to myself, "dude I just gave yall fifty-thousand seconds already and you want me to give you some more seconds for four little chicken tenders. I just could not fathom why they had me and the other customer before me waiting so long when there were no other customers in sight, not even inside the building. I started to get a creepy and eerie feeling about this. However, I had already given my payment so I decided to just wait it out. What was the point of me being in a hurry and using the drive-thru, when my time got delayed anyway? The perks of a drive-thru are not available at this place of business, obviously. Furthermore, after waiting for what seemed like a Kajillion minutes, he finally brought my order to the window without a bag. He just handed me a Chicken Express box and the box was cold. As I reached for my order, my thoughts were that the bottom of the box was going to burn my hand from the heat of the tenders. After being rude to me upon ordering and then handing me a box of OLD, COLD, and STALE chicken tenders, he had the nerves to apologize for the wait. I ended up thanking him for his service and telling him to have a nice day. Guys, when I opened that box so that I could munch on my tenders while driving to my destination, I was highly disappointed at the presentation of the tenders. Also, to make matters worse, when I picked one up to taste it, it was cold not warm but cold, dry, and stale tasting. While driving away, I was thinking to myself, "I will not be returning here ever again." In conclusion, Chicken Express should change the name of their establishment by dropping the Express part and replacing it with Slowfulness because service was painfully slow. It was like watching paint dry. Moreover, customer service was extremely unprofessional. The guy that served me was rude, unfriendly, and unwelcoming. He did not greet me with a friendly and professional tone. He did not greet me at all. I greeted him. He appeared as if he did not want to be doing the job that he is getting paid to do. I get it that sometimes you're just not feeling it but you can't bring your problems to work. Stay at home if you're not happy. Better yet, the business owners should check in on their place of business by doing pop-up visits and assessments to see what their workers are truly doing when they are not around. Have you ever heard the quote, "when the cat's away, the mice come out to play?" Well, that's exactly what they were doing at this establishment when they sold me some old, cold, and stale chicken tenders and made me wait for an hour to receive them. I will never go back and I do not recommend anyone to visit this establishment. It has gone downhill pretty badly, which is so sad because it has a lot...
Read moreHave eaten at Chicken Express while traveling but this location is the closest to home. Decided to meet some family here for dinner. Had chicken and gizzards. The food was good but the gizzards could have been cooked a little longer. The tea was excellent. The facility was extremely clean and maintained. The fellow at the counter was not a people person but got the job done. Overall, it was a positive experience and I will be going back. UPDATE: Went back for a weekend dinner and had a great experience. Food, service and facility were all good. Will continue to go back as long as this continues. UPDATE: Went back expecting another positive experience but was sadly mistaken. Got there at 815pm and sign on door showed they closed at 10pm. Ordered my usual meal with an extra piece of chicken. The total was much higher than expected. The meal was higher on the menu board but no mention of prices a la carte. I asked the cashier to read the order back and he stated that he had already "authorized" it so I had to pay for it. Turns out he added two one piece meals instead of just an extra piece of chicken. Once the food arrived, the meal was overcooked and the chicken pieces were cold. The biscuit was hard and stale. Okra was good. At 830 a lady came out and locked all the doors. She stated that they close at 9. When I referred to the posted hours she commented that they leave at 10 and clean that last hour. I asked her why the decorations had been removed she stated that they belonged to the previous owner and this location had recently been sold. I guess this explains...
Read moreI was more impressed than I expected I would be. The chicken was very fresh and tasty. We arrived 15 minutes after they opened, so I am sure that helped. The service was fast and accurate as far as our actual food order, BUT they charged me the car order behind us (the slip attached to my food bag showed my car type and color; the other receipt handed to me showed a completely different type and color). I didn't catch it until I had already pulled away from the drive thru. I called the store and I was told I would need to come back in to fix the issue. I decided to deal with it later. I wanted to eat my food while it was still hot. The chicken was nicely battered, very fresh and the perfect temperature. The fries were also very good. I like the gravy option with chicken tenders - tastes like a country lunch. Yum! The coleslaw was nice with a wonderful crunch. The roll - oh my goodness were they delicious! You have a choice of a biscuit or roll, but I prefer rolls. The sweet tea with the "Sonic" ice was also great! Their menu is pretty extensive for fast food. Not many places have okra and green beans for a side. I stayed with the safe option of fries, just in case, but next time, I will try other items. I ended up going back to rectify the situation of being overcharged. The manager was very nice and willing to help. I had to explain it to 4 people first, then wait for a good 20 minutes (I shouldn't have gone during their dinner rush), but it was cleared up and I appreciated...
