JLB Eatery — Restaurant in Texas

So I’ve been so anxious to try JLB for a few months now since a coworker informed me of how GREAT their burgers were! Unbeknownst to me there was a location literally in my backyard! The day I wanted to try them they were closed due to Covid-19 so I just so happened to notice last week that they were open, my daughter and I ventured there today and man we were in for an epic burger! We’re from Chicago so we consider ourselves foodies and the Cheeseburger and fresh cut French fries don’t disappoint and the service just puts a cherry on top! The establishment is clean, the service was epic and the food was phenomenal a cheeseburger cooked to perfection and seasoned with a nice crisp on the outside without losing the juicy deliciousness on the inside with all the perfect dressing in between their homemade brioche style bun it’s superb! The fresh cut French fries are a marriage to the burger with a light dusting of a special seasoning it’s sends all your taste buds on a roller coaster of food ecstasy! First of all, I just wanna point out I never write reviews for food, but I'll be damned if I don't write one here. Had to go on a work trip out of bounds where I usually go, and I typed "burgers" on Google maps and decided on this one. The burger was absolutely scrumptious. I cried. Holding my new born son won't come close to the level of euphoria I had when I took my first bite. Burger is wider than my attention span, toastier than my hand when I accidentally grabbed my buffers exhaust pipe(dark time, totally milked the injury leave for work on that one) and juicier than family drama. This burger made me stand up and salute the flag. My only sorrow is that there isn't a JLB close where I live, I stared at the sky and wondered what such a life would be like. I just saw someone get run off the road by someone else 7 seconds ago, but my mind is still on JLB. Take that information...

Burgers were average and overcooked. Buns were soggy. Tater tots tasted like ore Ida from a bag from the grocery store.

Service is the primary reason for this review, however. Order placed at 7pm in person for a to-go order. Order took 34 minutes with two occupied tables, one of which ordered after I did. When asked about the order status, the person behind the counter replied "It's in the back." When asked if he'd please go get it, "It's not ready yet." it's another ten minutes to get my food order, and absolutely no apology offered for the delays. When I commented that I truly hoped the food was better than the awful service, he responded by rolling his eyes.

The burgers themselves required significant seasoning to make them palatable. There are other locations, I suggest you try one of the others as opposed to this one where clearly service is not of...
