Floor had some kind of film on it that was very slippery, multiple customers almost fell and the staff did nothing but explain that it was raining out. My shoes at the table were slippery the whole time. Which says that they probably left soap on the floor the last time they mopped. The bathroom floors were not slippery. Several patrons made the wait staff aware, but they just dismissed them saying it was raining out. I guess it will have to take someone cracking their head open for them to acknowledge its a problem.
Service was marginal at best and the food was sub par. Dried out hamburger steak, with zero seasoning and old tasting hash browns were on my plate. I will say that my eggs over medium were cooked good and the small pancakes were also good.. my DH had scrambled eggs with no flavor or sesoning, old tasting hash browns and bland flavorless biscuits and gravy. based on our experience today, we will...
Read moreWe’ve come here several times for lunch. Burgers and sandwiches are good. We decided to try breakfast. Big mistake!! I got the skillet breakfast. The eggs on top were the only thing edible. The hash browns were over cooked and slathered in butter. There were small traces of sausage and vegetables but decided to give up on my breakfast. The wife had a basic breakfast. Same deal with the hash browns. Way overcooked. My two sons were not excited about their breakfast either. It was a warm morning and ac was not on. Doors were open trying to cool it down. Really a bad idea when the restaurant is right next to Los Alamitos race track. Swatting flies off your food and ketchup bottle!! Service is usually pretty good but the dad was there by himself trying to wait on tables. I asked where his help was at. He said they were sleeping!! Nice!! That might be our last time there!! $70 for four people for...
Read moreThis restaurant in a strip mall next to the racetrack is a throwback to Russell's restaurants in Long Beach that closed more than ten years ago. They offer the same great burgers and breakfast foods that I remember, and also offer a good selection of sandwiches, salads and mexican dishes. I seem to always get the Frisco Burger with Onion Rings on the side. This hamburger sandwich is served on grilled sourdough bread which is slathered with a great tasting russian dressing, bacon, tomato, onion and tomato, and is one of the best tasting examples I've ever had. The open kitchen shows off the cleanliness of the restaurant and special care that the owners and employees take in serving their customers and providing good, fresh quality products. The prices on some dishes seem a little out of line compared to similar restaurants, but they also have breakfast specials every day that are...
