Food was good, we got the meatloaf and chicken tenders. I would say 6/10
Service - not the best. HORRIBLE!! The three ladies who attended us had a very dry service. The first hostess/ waitress saw us walk in with the stroller not even a welcome or a smile just looked very low energy and pick up a menus, scrambling through the utensils super annoyed walked us to a high booth. No offer for high chair, very tight. No words whatsoever. Second waitress came by a few mins later, again no welcome to gourmet pie or how are you guys just straight what can I get you guys to drink with a very serious tone. My husband told her it’s our first time any recommendations on their food. She gave us two options but looked annoyed and her feedback was not the best or sound appealing. I asked for more time to look over the menu. At this point I was already over it and thought to myself we should’ve gone elsewhere, but still wanted to give it a chance based on their sister restaurant- joes schmoes (which is amazing) delicious food and amazing service ! Third waitress comes by takes our order- food took 30 minutes or a bit longer keep in mind it was not busy, empty floor, I felt forgotten. The couple that came 10 mins after us got their food before us and we ordered simple plates. That same third waitress comes up and says “sorry guys I thought I put your orders in I kept passing by and seen you guys still didn’t have your food so I went to check and it wasn’t in yet “ I just thought to myself - how can you forget it’s super empty you’re not even busy.
I’m a very patient and understanding person I worked in the food industry as well so I been on the other side of the table which is why I usually don’t make a big deal when things go wrong… I replied back oh that’s okay, but really I was already a bit frustrated. We get our food I had to stand outside of the booth the whole time because my baby wanted to be carried and booth was too tight and too tall to have him in the stroller. We should’ve been seated in a more lower table area. But whatever I guess sometimes strollers or babies may not be taken into consideration. My plate was still full because the tenders were very hot I was waiting for them to cool down and that second waitress passed by asked for a refill and if we are ready to get the check. Just give me the to go box while you’re add it =( the only reason I’m leaving a review is to hope management reads it and help some of their employees with providing better customer service and look a little more upbeat instead of just looking like their angry or walking in a zombie world and just collecting a check. They were not welcoming at all. Service was definitely 0/10
Desserts - very delicious! Quality was amazing.
I hope this review helps out a little. Just an fyi A nice smile or nice short greeting goes a long way for customers!
I most likely won’t be going back, after being disappointed and getting very bad service, but at least the only great thing I got out of this experience of dining here was the desserts :) I ended of eating the chicken tenders after at a local park, they were good definitely better than my husbands plate back at...

Since you can't write a 2nd review (my original below was from quite some time ago, and I felt an update was warranted after a recent visit.
First time having dinner here (previously had been breakfast/lunch). Soup was delivered barely luke warm, and it took forever to be replaced - had to ask 2x. Had to ask for napkins 2x, server forgot to bring the country gravy for my meal for over 30 mins, and our meal was basically done, and when he did, they sent out brown gravy, which was not what I ordered, and they never replaced it with the correct item.
Baby back ribs were overcooked and the tops were rock hard and stringy, but to be fair, most of the meat was tender and juicy, but the hard tops kind of ruined it, and made it difficult to even cut.
I ordered plain "sautéed broccoli" for my side. It said nothing in the menu, nor did the server when I specifically had asked when ordering, about being completely drenched in heavy butter with TONS of garlic chunks in it. You could smell it from across the table. I had to request steamed broccoli instead. Really a poor kitchen decision to serve anything like that.
It was quite disappointing that a place I've raved about before had such a different experience at dinner. It wasn't crazy business on this weeknight, and there were plenty of servers. No idea why so long to get orders corrected and just plain correct.
However, everyone was friendly and professional otherwise. Had to knock my earlier rating down a bit for inconsistency and lesser quality overall.
Had no idea (based strictly on the name) this place had such good food! Assumed it was mostly a dessert place - and the pies are good - but it's so much more. Gourmet Pie & Cafe has an extensive menu of comfort foods.
I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs, and it was delicious, with great flavor and seasoning in the country gravy. I was so full when I'd finished that I didn't get to enjoy any pie (but I'd had it before, and it's very tasty as well).
Just goes to show you... don't judge a book (or restaurant) by its cover... or name. I mean, sure, it has "Cafe" in the name, but it's definitely not just a pie place, for sure. Looking forward to checking out more menu items when I'm...
Read moreThis was my first time coming to Gourmet Pie and Cafe. I've heard great things about it and was excited to try it. Everything was fine until the waitress brought our food. She handed my mother in law a plate of food that she did not order. She asked for one thing and received something else. When my mother in law let her know it was the wrong order, the waitress became defensive and said that this is what you told me you wanted. My mother in law again said to her that she did not order this. The waitress then rolled her eyes and said I repeated it back to you. The waitress walked away and then the manager came over to the table and continued to talk down to my mother in law and tell her that the waitress repeated the order back to her. My husband and I reminded the manager how loud it was in the restaurant- music, very crowded- and her response to us was that they keep the music down low so the waitress can hear and then started talking about their menu policy and went back to how my mother in law DID order the dish the waitress brought. Mistakes happen, but I cannot believe that these employees, especially this manager, made my mother in law feel like it was her fault that her order was incorrect! They were very argumentative and unprofessional. I have never heard a manager speak to a customer like this! How about sorry for the mistake, and get her the food she wants?!?! No, instead we get rude, insulting employees who want to argue about an order. The waitress is one thing, but the manager's behavior is what is really was shocking. My mother in law finally told them to forget about her order after being badgered by these people. The manager just walked off. My mother in law didn't even eat anything while we all sat there with our food! You do not treat people this way! I will never set foot in this...
