Denny's — Restaurant in Cypress

This review might be long because I really feel sad and hurt. We have been going to this Denny’s for over 15 years since we moved to cypress. Now, we live in Magnolia, but we still drive 15 miles to go there because it brings a lot of good memories. We made it our going to place for breakfast at least once a month . The grand kids love this place. Well, today I got there 10 minutes before a friend and I told the waitress we will be two but she brought only one menu. Than I asked for a water with my coffee that I never got. Still it was not a big deal and I didn’t realize that she didn’t speak or understand English until I got my food. I ordered French Toast a la carte from the stuffedFrench Toast Slam and one order of grits . I showed her the picture so there will not be any confusion. She brought me two little French Toast with no stuffing or berries and no grits. I was still OK and admiring the fact that she is working and really wanted to support her. So, I waived to another waitress and tried to explain to her that this is not what I ordered. She went and got a menu and slapped it on the table to show me how their French Toast comes if I didn’t ask for stuffed one. I tried to tell her that I showed the waitress the picture knowing that I probably needed to do that. But, instead of replacing my order with the correct one( the right thing to do) even if she believed it was my mistake she kept telling me me that’s what I ordered and wouldn’t give a chance to talk. At that moment all what I said (very politely) are you going to stop talking and give a chance to talk? Her reply was: you don’t have to be rude and she left. Well, we stood up and started walking to leave the restaurant. But, she kept screaming and telling us that’s her store and we were not welcome there. General manager (Jessica ) refused to honor 20% on our discount card that we purchased from our son’s school. Discount card indicated a 20% discount on entire meal and she refused and would only honor 10% saying that if it was less than 50$ she can do the 20% and then she said if it was less than 20$ so she just didn’t want to honor the original discount. This is false advertising and misleading to the customer. I asked for the store number and her name and she refused to give me the required information to make a complaint. I asked her for a phone number or email to file a complaint and she refused that’s when she started to get hostile. She then began to threaten us and insult us and was being rude entirely. The server Erica then began to interrupt us while we spoke with the Gm and the Gm just stood there and did not correct issue. We felt hostility from both Gm and server and were beginning to feel threaten. The Gm then threatens us with the cops and proceeds to call them. The cops show up in less then 10 min and immediately the Gm starts to bash us painting us as the wrong party and stating that we incited the situation. As I explained to the officer that she was unwilling to honor our discount while we were paying. Ultimately she was refusing and threatening us saying not to come back to this location and so we are not going go back due to the unprofessional manner that this location is being handled. I have formally filed a complaint and would like for her actions to be address and corrected so no other customers have to go through this. Ultimately this lady needs serious customer service training along with the server. SERVICE: On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Elvia was our waitress and she was EXCELLENT!!! From the moment we walked in until the time we left, she was attentive, kind and accommodating to our needs. She made sure our food came out fresh and piping hot.🥰 She also made sure to provide impeccable service for me and my family and because of her, we will definitely be back♥️

FOOD: I ordered the Strawberry Stuffed French Toast and it was THE BEST THING IVE EVER EATEN! I am not exaggerating at all. Hear me out-they used a round cut brioche bread and filled it with a sweet velvety cream concoction and topped it off with FRESH sliced strawberries served with a side of strawberry jelly. The edge of the brioche bread was crispy and each side was toasted in butter. Run, don't walk, but RUN and order this before they remove it from the menu. I'm definitely ordering the strawberry stuffed french toast from NOW ON lol 🤣 I'm telling you it's worth every cent and calorie.

My youngest son ordered the double cheeseburger and when I tell you we were blown away by the PRESIDENTIAL PRESENTATION of this burger when it came to the table, just trust and believe me and look at the pictures at his reaction lol. Never have I ever seen such perfection to detail to make a burger look EXACTLY LIKE THE PICTURES ON THE MENU and to top it off, it was HOT and JUICY! Even halfway through eating the burger it was still steaming!! Seriously his burger tasted as good as it looked and he couldn't stop telling our waitress Elvia how AMAZING it was. 🥰

MY TAKEAWAY: Will we come back? Absolutely!
