First thing we noticed was the strange smell however it wasn't over powering or gross. The staff was very friendly, and the manager even dropped by because it was our 1st visit.

The meso soup was good, and the salad dressing was interesting and flavorful although it was a tad oversauced. Recommending to you to ask for it on the side.

For the calimari, the rings were large and breaded very uniformly. I would absolutely recommend them, and the mango salsa was delicious. I ended up putting it on everything. The rolls were flavorful and full of sushi. My photo of them is VERY orange because I ordered extra spice.

The Bento Box came with an array of selection and I was a little jelous I didn't order this. The California rolls were on point with the crisp refreshing cucumber. Shrimp were perfectly done. The scallops may have been cooked just ever so slightly wet, however there was no shortage of flavor and they were awesome none the less, sauce texture and all.

The lunch specials on top of this great food makes this a great place to grab a meal. We barely spent $30, and left with a doggy-bag.

Decided to try because of the great reviews and the fact that Sakura Tokyo on 290 is now closed on Mondays. Drove 20 min out of the way to a meekly decorated, frumpy place with 0 customers, and this was during dinner time. I was welcomed nicely however, and ordered the spicy tuna roll, pepper tuna roll, miso soup, and vegetable tempura with asparagus. the miso soup had good flavor--plenty of seaweed but had absolutely no tofu. the batter on the vegetable tempura was so stale though that chewing it made my jaw nearly seize up; the spicy tuna roll had an off-putting sweet flavor and was unseasoned; and the pepper tuna roll looked and tasted so terrible that I didn't finish it for fear of getting sick. I write this now about 15 min after eating and can say that from this initial experience, I'll never be back. the only reason this place gets 2 stars is because of the decent service, and because I got a drink on the house for waiting for my takeout order. My recommendation: go to Sakura if you want the best tasting sushi in Cypress that won't...

Unfortunately can’t recommend this place. Stopped by to try this place and asked waiter about the Spicy Miso ramen.. i don’t like spicy stuff so I asked multiple times how spicy it was and the guy mentioned that it wasn’t that spicy.. I still wasn’t 100% sure so I asked to do a test so I got a small sample of the broth and that was not spicy at all so I decided to go for it. Food came out quick but long and behold the ramen came out really spicy so I told the waiter that I really didn’t want to eat it so they took it back and offered something else but unfortunately we were on a time crunch so decided opt out of something else, I assume they were going to take it off my bill since I was only able to take one bite. Bill came out and unfortunately I assumed that they had taken the ramen off the bill but nope.. it was there and they refused to remove it.. So yeah.. not going there again.. Looked like the place was ran by bunch of inexperienced young guys that got lots to learn...

A nice little sushi spot. Can't say the sushi was amazing. But it was very good. Given a choice, and the fact that I've had better sushi at the same price, it wouldn't be my first choice to travel to. But if I'm in the area I would not hesitate to go again. The staff was very nice, although they couldn't answer most questions we had. Green tea is just a small mug, not a pot. They do have some unique no rice, no seaweed rolls that we enjoyed. The Naruto was almost like eating salad with tuna in it. Very tasty! But only 6 pieces at a full roll price was disappointing considering it was mostly cucumber. The other rolls we had were sized well for the price and no nonsense in structure. Nothing crazy, but good flavor combintions.

Exceptional service, nice and quiet atmosphere, and excellent food. I ate here for lunch and ordered a dinosaur roll and two shrimp tempura bento boxes. Dinosaur roll had avocado, soft shell crab, and eel. The bento box was preceded by complimentary miso soup and house salad, and had shrimp tempura with veggies, a whole california roll (8 pcs), shu mai (fish balls), and white rice (fried rice is $1 extra). The food tasted very fresh, especially the sushi. I was surprised by the high quality of the food, but am glad I decided to visit today. Definitely give this place a try and support local!
