Really excellent food. According to my mom, dad and husband the burgers are excellent. My mom had a build your own, cooked medium with no onion. They did put onion on her burger and there was no pink in her medium burger. Dad got the Pablo craft burger. He liked it, I can not give you more because not taking while flavor lasts. He ordered onion rings as his side. He seemed to like them. My husband had the Peppe and could finish because it was so spicy. Patrick said it was flavorful, but so spicy he could not finish eating it. For an appetizer he had pretzel on the menu, comes with Dijon mustard and Chipotle dipping sauce (spicy). Patrick also had the side wedge salad with no blue cheese and honey mustard. My husband is a conoseur of a proper wedge salad and he was well and pleased with it. He also 'sang' high praise about the pretzels. My mom got a side of French fries and was very thrilled that the fries were served warm. she shared them about the table. I am particularly thrilled that all of my omnivore family can have a great meal at the same place that I can get a great vegan meal. I had the Summer Salad, hold the cojita. I also had them add acacado, grilled poblano, and extra asparagus. I choose basalmic dressing and wonderfully it was a rosemary basalmic, positively a delight. Patrick and I are heavy beverage consumers and our waitress did pretty well keeping up with us on refills. There is an respectable craft beer menu. My dad did what he always does and gets a doseques. I tried the craft root beer. It was good on the first round, when I got it to taste. I swapped with my husband, because he was amenable and had unsweetened just iced tea. He said the refill was watery. There is another salad to try and more craft burgers, so we will be back on our own dime. We received an invitation to try a new resteraunt with my parents and we lept at the offer. The music was a...
Read moreNight started off good, I found a beer that I wanted to try and we were waiting for another couple. They arrived and ordered drinks and we all ordered appetizers. It was 7:10.
We ordered the crafthouse balls and the other couple ordered the Boudin Balls. Imagine my surprise when they have at least 8 Boudin Balls all nearly three inches wide and we have 4 small meatballs that aren't even half as large. At 11.50 for the crafthouse balls that is nearly 3 dollars for each bite of our appetizer. Needless to say I was a little disappointed.
They real thing that irked me was having to wait another 35 minutes before we could flag someone down to take our order. The atmosphere is nice, but it's not that nice when you're being ignored.
We all ordered different burgers and fries, and we were all told the burgers would be cooked medium which I was fine with, 1 burger was well done, one was medium, mine and my wife's were both medium rare. They tasted good but when a good chunk of it is still raw it leaves something to be desired, the inconsistency is really bothered me.
After waiting, the server came by and demanded we put all of our trash, and forks in the plates, then applauded and said "good job" I was half expecting to be given a banana sticker just like elementary school.
After waiting another half hour between waiting for our check and then waiting for our credit cards to come back, we were finally free.
All in all, the food is okay, the appetizers were kind of a joke, the service was just disrespectful. We paid 60 dollars for 2 burgers, 1 beer, and 4 small meatballs. We were there for 1 hour and 55 minutes and it was not for the atmosphere.
There are far too many places within a 20 minute drive of us where I can get better food and service for less money for me to consider coming...
Read moreDOGS ( ACTUAL DOGS) THAT SHOWED AFTER WE WERE SEATED WERE GIVEN WATER BEFORE WE WERE EVEN WELCOMED. I understand that sometimes people get missed by servers but the terrible experience started from the moment we walked into the Crafthouse. Walking in, my wife and myself were wearing masks (that is the requirement in Harris county at the moment) and were given strange looks by the patrons. We are a mixed couple and I am a large tattooed man, with long hair and a beard, so I assume it could have been that as well. We proceeded to go to the patio and sit down. I quickly noticed that I was not wearing the required attire of the establishment, the upperclass suburban dad three piece (golf hat, university polo, and khaki shorts). We grabbed some seats at a tabletop and waited to be welcomed. Two groups of locals walked in with their families and dogs and proceeded to sit down 5 mins after us. Both were attended to quickly and DOGS were given water while the guests decided on the menu. After 15 mins of waiting, we decided that the establishment either didn''t like the way I looked (I manage a motorcycle dealership and make just as much money and have just as nice house as the locals) or had an issue with my wife being black and me being white (this is Texas). We proceeded to walk out, in which a server said "Have a nice night, hope you enjoyed it". I decided to stop by the bar on the way out to tell the bartender, "we are leaving because nobody took our order", his response was "I'm Sorry". I responded that "dogs got water and we couldn't" again his response was "I'm Sorry". MY CLOTHES, MY LOOK, INTERRACIAL COUPLE, BLACK WOMAN IN EXCLUSIVELY WHITE ESTABLISHMENT, who knows but again, DOGS GOT SERVED AND...
