This was our first time here and it was a GREAT find. It's a little difficult to get to on a Saturday night because the whole area is very popular and there is construction going on, but it wasn't too bad, and it was worth it. We were seated right away at the sushi bar, and their menu is far more extensive than the one online. I was pleased to see a lot of riceless options since I am trying to eat low carb. My BF has been craving good sushi for a while, and he was not disappointed. He ordered an assortment of nigiri and the fish was fresh and very generous portions. The miso soup was meh... standard mass making flavor. I started with the agedashe tofu and it was perfect. Instead of small cubes and a dipping sauce, like most places, it was square patties with the sauce underneath. Delish. I also ordered the sunomono salad, which is the deluxe version of the cucumber salad. Again, generous portion of seafood on cucumbers. Yum. I finished with the Screaming Orgasm mixed. (Not crazy about the name), but the concept is good. Pieces of sashimi on a bed of shredded daikon with a mayo based sauce. It doesn't look appealing and I thought there was too much sauce for this; it sort of drowned everything, but I'm glad i got it. If I order it again, I would ask for less sauce. The two main sushi chefs are family and they are extremely nice and friendly. We had a lovely chat with them. I highly recommend coming here. Unfortunately, I'm only here a few nights for a conference; otherwise, this would be my goto spot.

We always have a good time here. Great customer service. The food and drinks are great. I always recommend Hibiki to friends and family. Fri.,03/07/2025- We enjoyed dinner with the kids. Everything was well prepared and tasty. My first time trying Tonkatsu šŸ˜‹ We took advantage of the happy hour specials. We had the screaming orgasm, fried & steamed gyoza, edamame, crunch roll, dancing eel roll, dragon roll, California roll, Takoya, and Tonkatsu. Their prices have increased since our last visit, but that's to be expected with this economy. There is a lot of construction on commerce street right now, parking is limited. This is definitely a must try when in DallasšŸ‘šŸ‘ 12/31/2021- Kickin' off the New Year's festivities with friends and family. Dinner was delicious and we devoured every bite. The only complaint was that the Kalibi- Korean short ribs were to fatty, other than that we'll definitely be back. šŸ‘ 03/11/2022- We made it in time for Happy Hour😁 Enjoyed dinner and drinks with the family. They have a great happy hour!!!

I recently ordered the screaming orgasm mixed sashimi platter from Hibiki, and while the service was friendly and welcoming, nothing really stood out as exceptional. The fish quality was good, but the cuts were a bit thinner than I would have liked for sashimi. However, the highlight of the dish was definitely the spicy chef's special sauce - it was well-balanced and complemented the sashimi perfectly. Additionally, when I ordered green tea, I was pleasantly surprised to receive actual matcha instead of the usual lower quality green tea. This attention to detail was much appreciated and made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, my experience at Hibiki was pleasant and enjoyable, and if you're looking for good quality sashimi, friendly service, and little surprises like the matcha tea, Hibiki is definitely worth a visit.

Takeaway: Good Noodles, bad sushi. We started with edamame and seaweed salad. They do a great seaweed salad! We then ordered several items off the Happy Hour menu: Spider roll, Mexican roll and the Ahi tower. I was hoping to get some raw fish on the ahi tower, but it was ground up like hamburger meat and layered with surimi, so hard to tell the flavor. Actually, everything we ordered except the Nabeyaki Udon was full of surimi. Not familiar? Surimi is a processed fish product made from pulverized/powdered whole fish, often pollock, that is used mainly to make garden fertilizer or imitation crab. There are chemicals added to gelatinize the proteins, and it is nothing like actual crab. I understand that in Dallas, crab isn't an easy catch, but I also feel that this ingredient should then be called "imitation crab". I looked at the regular menu to see if there was a difference, but they are the same items, same descriptions for the Happy Hour items. The waiter told me that you can substitute real crab for an upcharge. How would I have known if it's advertised as crab? Frustrating. The seaweed wrap was gray colored. I don't think I've had worse rolls in Texas, but they were very inexpensive ($8-$11 per roll). I would rather have had a smaller portion made with fresh ingredients. It is very possible that there are some good rolls here with fresh fish and no fillers.

The Udon, however, was delicious, boiling hot and just what my husband craved! A large tempura shrimp was served in a tasty broth with chicken, vegetables and an egg that perfectly cooked in the hot broth. Also, the service was impeccable! The waiter was very attentive and brought out the plates as they came up. He even brought us a free ice cream dessert for my husband's birthday. In short, I may give this restaurant another try, but never again...
