We dropped by this pie shop conveniently located next to Pecan Lodge after enjoying a hearty BBQ lunch. It turned out to be the perfect spot to satisfy our post-meal sweet cravings.
The Nutty Honey Pie at this delightful pie shop offered an almost divine experience. The blend of peanut butter cream, crunchy honey bits, and house-made whipped cream created a harmonious dance of flavors on my taste buds. Each bite seamlessly fused nutty richness, sweet honey undertones, and the ethereal delight of the whipped cream. The texture was flawless—smooth and decadent, elevating the taste to a level that went beyond the ordinary. This pie is truly a masterpiece.
The Smooth Operator Pie is a haven for chocolate enthusiasts. The silky-sweet chocolate skillfully piped onto a salty pretzel crust delivered a divine contrast that was both sophisticated and irresistibly tempting. From the first glance to the last bite, this pie was a masterpiece for both the eyes and the taste buds. The chocolate rosette on top wasn't merely a garnish; it was a promise of the chocolate dream held within. The flawless execution of the marriage between salty and sweet resulted in a euphoric experience for the taste buds.
Get ready to be enchanted by the Drop Dead Gourdgeous Pie. This spiced pumpkin delight with a gingerbread crust is a festive celebration of autumn in every forkful. The perfectly balanced spices enhanced the natural sweetness of the pumpkin without overshadowing it. The gingerbread crust, a delightful twist, elevated the pie to a level of sophistication that left a lasting impression. Each bite took me on a journey through the cozy comforts of fall, and the impeccable execution made it stand out among pumpkin pies. Without a doubt, this is one of the best pumpkin pies...
Read moreWhat happened to Emporium Pies? My family and I have ordered from them almost every year for the past four years. However, I regret to say that my recent experience has left all of us thoroughly disappointed.
The pie I ordered recently lacked the quality (crust to filling ratio) I had come to expect, leaving me questioning whether attention to food excellence is still a priority for the establishment.
Equally disheartening was the shift in customer service. I took the time to express my concerns via email on Christmas Eve, hoping for a resolution or at least an acknowledgment of the issue. Unfortunately, the response I received was short and lack of follow-up further emphasized the apparent decline in customer care. The associate in the front of the store reflects your business. Why would you want someone as rude as that representing your store? I would have appreciated a phone call, but they're apparently too busy to take the time out of their day for a mere phone call.
It's disheartening to witness the decline of a once-beloved establishment. I sincerely hope that Emporium Pies takes this feedback seriously and works towards restoring the quality and customer service that initially made it a standout choice for pie enthusiasts like myself. Until then, I am left questioning whether I'll continue my annual tradition with Emporium Pies in the...
Read moreThis pecan pie is like dating a hot girl with a bad relationship paradigm. And like that damaged relationship, it's going to cost you dearly and leave you reeling.
The first thing that greets you as you enter the store in the fashionable Deep Ellum location is the stench. No warm wafting smell of a bakery, but rather smell of a broken toilet. The service was lackluster and the pies on display looked more as an afterthought.
But let's talk about the pies. I got the Drunken Nut pecan pie. (When someone chooses to call a pecan pie anything other than by its namesake, you know it's going to cost you:)
My god, after having it, I did not know if I was in love with it or hated it. Classic symptoms of being in a bad relationship. I think I know the reason why. The crust is the saltiest I have tasted and the filling is the sweetest. I realize why my taste buds and my brain were reeling from such a sensory overdose. This is similar to the excessive amount of sugar and salt fast food and soda companies add to get people hooked to their product. And the pie costs a whopping $48. I am truly reeling now. I have the same highs and remorse that fast food and bad relationships have on me. The only thing clear is that I won't be back in a hurry, but I have also been known to repeat...
